Did you know that members of SRVUMC’s Missions Committee deliver 200 pounds of food from local McDonald’s to White Pony Express every week? It’s another way SRVUMC is making an impact and taking a bite out of food insecurity in Contra Costa County.🌍✨

The food is distributed within 48 hours as part of White Pony Express’ food rescue program. Making sure good food doesn’t go to waste is another way SRVUMC takes Jesus’ teaching to love our neighbor seriously.

Happy Father’s Day to all dads, grandpas, stepdads, foster dads, mentors, and father figures! 💙

Today, we celebrate the men who step up, show up, lean in, and demonstrate what unconditional love looks like. Whether you are a biological dad, a chosen father, or a spiritual father figure walking alongside someone, you matter.
Following Jesus means learning to love deeply and build up the next generation. Thank you for making an impact on others and helping to heal the world.

We also recognize that this day can bring a mix of emotions—joy, grief, or regret. No matter how your heart is feeling today, please know you are welcome here.

Today, we pause to celebrate Juneteenth—the day freedom finally reached enslaved Black people in Galveston, Texas, in 1865 – a full 2 years after the Emancipation Proclamation was signed. As followers of Jesus, we believe God’s heart is always for liberation, justice, and affirms the inherent dignity of every human being.

True freedom means everyone belongs and is able to live into wholeness. Today, we celebrate the resilience, culture, and profound impact of our Black siblings, while recommitting ourselves to being a church where everyone is truly seen, valued, and no one is excluded.
