We preach theologically reformed, expositional sermons (chapter by chapter, verse by verse) as well as sing, pray and fellowship--all to the glory of God! Here at White Oak, we believe and teach the glorious gospel of Jesus Christ: That Jesus lived a sinless life, died an atoning death on the cross for the sins of His people, rose again victoriously from the dead over sin and death, ascended into
heaven in triumph, is seated at the right hand of the Father, has all authority in heaven and earth, is conquering the nations to Himself as we speak, and will continue to do so till the knowledge of the Lord covers the earth like the waters cover the sea (Habakkuk 2:14). We believe and teach that we are saved by grace alone, through faith alone, in Christ alone, according to the Scriptures alone, to the glory of God alone. We preach theologically reformed, expository sermons through entire books of the Bible (chapter-by-chapter, verse-by-verse). Whatever passage we're looking at, we examine the historical and literary context, and then apply it to our lives today. We sing Psalms, hymns, and spiritual songs unto the praise of God. Our priority and desire is to be theologically rich and gospel-focused in our worship. Our confidence in God's omnipotent sovereignty over all things stirs us to "ask, seek, and knock" in prayer for the Lord's will to be done. We fellowship with one another before and after the service--stirring one another on to love and good works (Heb. 10:24). We also have a pancake breakfast before the service on the first Sunday of the month, and a potluck lunch after the service on the third Sunday of the month. We believe that sharing meals with one another is a means that God uses to cultivate comradery amongst brothers and sisters in Christ. We observe communion after the service on the first Sunday of every month. Though this consists of one small sip and one small bite--it is a feast for our souls and a genuine blessing in our sanctification when done in faith and "in remembrance of Him"--the Lord Jesus. Our services are fully family-integrated (no childcare is provided). As a church, we believe it is Scriptural for entire families to worship the Lord together. With that said, be rest assured, there is much grace for fidgity children. Also, we have a fellowship hall (with audio speaker) available if children need to be taken out of the service for a time. Through all this, our desire is to worship God with reverence and to bring glory to Jesus Christ. If you are able to join us this Sunday, it would be our joy to worship the Lord with you.
