Former Aflex resident Patricia Anne "Patti" Case, 65, of Sidney, KY, passed away Friday morning, March 13, 2026, in Pikeville Medical Center.
Patti was born May 28, 1960, in Williamson, WV, the daughter of the late Julius Lawson JR and Ruth Keaton Lawson. Patti worked as a pharmacy technician for Pikeville Medical Center.
Patti is survived by her husband, Mitchell Case of Sidney, KY; children, Melanie (Josh) Howard of Lexington, KY, Jonathan "Gary" Childers of South Williamson, KY, Kristin Blankenship of South Williamson, KY, Mitch (Megan) Case of Pikeville, KY and James Case of Sidney, KY; her siblings, Debbie (Charles) Green of Frankfort, KY, Bill (Judy) Lawson of Gallion, Ohio, Jack (Sandy) Lawson of Loretto, TN and Joe Lawson of Somerset, KY. Patti was also survived by her grandchildren, Luke Blankenship, Kylee Childers, Levi Howard, Raegan Case and Peyton Case, who lovingly called her "GG".
Patti also leaves behind a host of other family and friends.
Visitation for Patti was held Saturday, March 14, 2026, from 6 - 9 PM in the R. E. Rogers Funeral Home Chapel. Funeral services followed on Sunday, March 15, 2026, beginning at 1:30 PM in the funeral home chapel, with Tommy Reed officiating. Entombment followed in the Mountain View Memory Gardens Mausoleum, Huddy, KY, with her family serving as pallbearers. R. E. Rogers Funeral Home of Belfry, KY, served the Case family. Added some color to the Aflex Sunday School photo from 9-16-1933. I believe this one was submitted by Bill Spencer whose mother Elizabeth (Kennedy) Spencer is the 2nd girl from left. The blonde girl in the back on the left is my aunt Hazel (Reed) Thompson. 4th girl from left in back is Margaret (Wilson) Vernatter, 5th girl from left in front is Margaret's sister Nina (Wilson) Poe and my aunt Violet (Reed) McGuire is the blonde standing in back row, 2nd from the right. Aflex resident David Reed II dies. Please keep his family in your prayers...

David Blaine Reed, II, 42, of Aflex, KY, passed away at his residence on January 8, 2026. Born December 12, 1983, in Williamson, WV, David was the son of David Reed and Beverly Kay Newsome Hatfield, of Aflex Ky. He was the grandson of Aflex residents Hurstle & Helena (Farley) Reed and great grandparents Albert & Sarah Ellen (Byrge) Reed and Otis & Stella (Kionka) Farley. David was preceded in death by his nephew, Bradley Fish, and a half-sister, Amy Johnson.

David was a graduate of Belfry High School where he excelled as an athlete. He played baseball for the Pirates, and he was an outstanding pitcher. He enjoyed collecting baseball cards, was an avid Dallas Cowboy’s football fan, and NASCAR racing fan. He enjoyed fishing trips to Canada, his cats, and spending time with his family and friends.

David’s passing has deeply grieved his family, all of whom loved him very deeply. He will be sadly missed and always remembered for his smile, and the joy and love he brought to his family.
In addition to his parents, David is survived by a sister, Kim (Keith Edward Fish) Newsome; a brother, Derek (Christina) Hatfield; nieces and nephews, Breanna Collins, Kaylin Hatfield and Devin Hatfield; two great-nieces, Aria Collins and Alaiya Collins; and a host of extended family members and friends.

Visitation is from 6:00 pm to 9:00 pm, Monday evening, January 12, 2026, at Weaver Mortuary in West Williamson. Funeral services will conducted at 1:00 PM, on Tuesday, January 13, 2026, at the mortuary. Reverend James Justice will officiate.
Interment is in the McCoy Cemetery at Burnwell, KY.
Family members and friends will serve as pallbearers.
