Youth & Young Adults Fellowship @ 1PM Every Last Sunday of the Month However in 1994, before coming to Geylang, we fasted for three weeks seeking God for a strategic place that He wanted to take us to. The building was joined to a temple and The Lord spoke to us that the stronghold of the devil in Singapore
was at Geylang. Therefore we moved there, renting the place officially in 1994. We actually entered into a greater spiritual battle. Geylang is noted for prostitution, loan sharks and gangsters, and drug pushing. We realized we had to increase our intercession and do strategic warfare prayers. At first, there were only a few churches and we called upon God for more churches and more prayer warriors. Praise God, we now have more than 70 churches in this area. Then the Lord spoke to us of a permanent place of worship, a mission base and a prayer house. We looked for a place all over but could not find one until a new building was rising just 20 meters adjacent to our rented building. We knew we could not meet the budget, but all the leaders got together, prayed for His confirmation and stepped out in faith. First, we as a church began to give sacrificially, then affiliated ministries,churches and individuals gave sacrificially. Indonesian friends also gave whole-heatedly despite the economic crisis at that time. We believe God is taking Tabernacle of Holiness into a new phase in our life and ministry. The mission base and the sanctuary He gave us are for a higher and honorable purpose. Many ministers have prophetically said about the things to come. One of the prophets said that the uniqueness of our church is to bring the glory of God into our midst. That has confirmed the reason why God gave us the name ‘Tabernacle of Holiness’. Only through holiness will the Glory come down. According to the scriptures, it says that Jesus is coming for His bride, who is holy, spotless, without wrinkle, or blemish. So far we have been working so hard for His presence to come down, but when His glory does come down, we would not be able to do anything because everything will be done by Him. Dr. Amos Jayarathnam
