Nehemiah 8:10 states “For the joy of the Lord is your strength?” What does that mean?

Joy is a settled confidence in who God is,
it is trust before the evidence arrives, and it is
compatible with grief and not the absence of it. It is essentially not what you feel, but where you stand.

Here are 3 postures we can take to recognise and build this Biblical strength that’s not manufactured by human but built on the foundations of the joy of the Lord:

1. Cry out: Joy does not begin with praise, it begins with honesty.

2. Hold on: Joy is forged in the waiting not the winning.

3. Show up: joy is not what you feel before you act, it is what meets you when you do.

Remember that it is not your joy is your strength, but the joy of the lord is your strength.

Timothy Keller once said “If someone has the Spirit in them, if they are a Christian - the fruit will grow ... A person saved by faith will be a person in whom the fruit of the Spirit grows.”

The fruit is the result of the inner work of the Holy Spirit. God is not looking for us just to have more numbers in the congregation or more Biblical knowledge, but he wants us to LOVE more like him.

Love is the foundation of all spiritual fruit, and by understanding the depth of God’s love towards us, we may receive love and in turn choose to love.

The Parable of the 10 Virgins is a warning for us to be prepared for the King’s return. Keep watch for the signs - Earthquakes, wars, and false prophets. And remember to act out our faithful in our everyday lives through service.

Ever wondered if the resurrection of Jesus actually happened, or if it was all just a scam?
This Easter, we’re taking a closer look. Come hear a doctor, journalist, and lawyer examine the evidence and share their professional perspectives on one of history’s biggest claims.
Bring a friend, bring your questions, and let’s explore the story behind the empty tomb together 🔍✝️

Walking in the Spirit - Choosing God Every Day.

In our Listening Prayer journey, we are called to walk in the Spirit. Each step is a choice to let Christ reign at the centre of our lives, above the noise and pull of the world. In doing so, we rest assured daily of His grace and sovereignty.

As a chosen generation set apart for God, we guard our spirit-filled life by choosing holiness over ourselves. Let us continue to surrender to God daily, walking closely with the Spirit, so that He may reign in our lives.

Where was God today?

Everyday, we’re receiving something from God - maybe a wisdom, warning, lesson or instruction.

Journalling becomes a sacred space to reflect and capture the moments we see God at work.

As we practise spiritual disciplines, our faith grows like a river fed by steady streams. Let us pause to write and remember, so we may recognise God’s goodness, and deepen our relationship with Him.
