What would satisfy you in life?

Looking at Psalm 37:4, we are reminded that delight precedes desire. In a world driven by achievement, true satisfaction isn’t found in temporal pursuits, but in anchoring our hearts in God who is eternal.

When we take delight in Him, He shapes our desires and writes our story with divine purpose. Missions aren’t a distant outreach, it begins right where we are, by sharing the Gospel and Christ’s love with our friends, family, and even in the marketplace.

Let us stay soft for God to shape us. May we put Him first and trust Him to make a way, so that we may see Him glorified in our lives!

Do not fall for the false security of worldly pleasures. But place your trust in the God who truely cares for you.

Humble yourselves, therefore, under God’s mighty hand, that he may lift you up in due time (1 Peter 5:6)

Faithfulness at Work: even when it’s not your dream job.

Work is meant to be an act of worship, extending far beyond a paid paycheck. While you can retire from a job, your calling to serve never stops. When you work with and for God, labor becomes worship; without Him, work becomes hollow. By grounding your daily tasks in the command to love God and others, work transforms into a double offering of wholehearted worship to Him and dedicated service to those around you.

Even when a job isn’t ideal, don’t walk out when things get tough. God often places you in specific environments for a season to serve as His agent to the people around you. By standing out through a distinct attitude, action, and response, your work reflects God’s character so clearly that others connect your everyday labor to your faith. When your primary desire is to honor Him, God provides the power to endure. Staying grounded under pressure allows perseverance to finish its work, giving God the necessary time to fulfill His purpose in and through you.

This sermon on Ecclesiastes 12:1-14 is an urgent call to center our lives entirely around our Creator today. While targeted at youth, this message applies to everyone: time moves faster than we think, and life at any age is fleeting and uncertain.

We need to actively allow God’s glory to direct our decisions, recognising that Jesus bought our lives at a great price. Instead of wasting time on trivial, temporary pursuits of worldly “vapour”, we must anchor ourselves in the shifting world through the true wisdom of God’s Word, which guides and protects us like a shepherd.

Ultimately, we will all face a final judgment. However, we can live with confidence knowing that this Judge is the same loving Shepherd who sees every small, faithful choice we make. Make Jesus your ultimate treasure now — it is always worth it.

Nehemiah 8:10 states “For the joy of the Lord is your strength?” What does that mean?

Joy is a settled confidence in who God is,
it is trust before the evidence arrives, and it is
compatible with grief and not the absence of it. It is essentially not what you feel, but where you stand.

Here are 3 postures we can take to recognise and build this Biblical strength that’s not manufactured by human but built on the foundations of the joy of the Lord:

1. Cry out: Joy does not begin with praise, it begins with honesty.

2. Hold on: Joy is forged in the waiting not the winning.

3. Show up: joy is not what you feel before you act, it is what meets you when you do.

Remember that it is not your joy is your strength, but the joy of the lord is your strength.

Timothy Keller once said “If someone has the Spirit in them, if they are a Christian - the fruit will grow ... A person saved by faith will be a person in whom the fruit of the Spirit grows.”

The fruit is the result of the inner work of the Holy Spirit. God is not looking for us just to have more numbers in the congregation or more Biblical knowledge, but he wants us to LOVE more like him.

Love is the foundation of all spiritual fruit, and by understanding the depth of God’s love towards us, we may receive love and in turn choose to love.
