KAICIID The International Dialogue Centre (KAICIID) The Centre also combats all forms of discrimination based on culture, religion or belief.

KAICIID is an intergovernmental organization whose mandate is to promote the use of dialogue globally to prevent and resolve conflict, to enhance understanding and cooperation. KAICIID’s mandate is to foster dialogue among people of different religions and cultures to build bridges and instil mutual respect. Intercultural and interreligious dialogue helps build communities’ resistance against prejudice, strengthens social cohesion, supports conflict prevention, and can serve to preserve peace. As an international organization, KAICIID supports the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, in particular the right to freedom of thought, conscience and religion. We implement programmes to overcome stereotypes in a long-term process that leads to a culture of dialogue that enables greater understanding of people of other cultures and followers of other religions.

Over the past two days, Manila became a meeting point for Education across Southeast Asia. 🌏

Held during the ’ ASEAN Chairship, the Peace Education High-Level Conference brought together institutions, educators, policymakers and peacebuilders to exchange perspectives on how education, dialogue and cooperation can contribute to more peaceful and inclusive societies.

This is where four helped us shape the conversation with their examples of how they have been using Intereligious & Intercultural Dialogue in their work and how it's been shaping their efforts into peacebuilding and social cohesion in the region. Each one of our Fellows bringing experience in areas including regional cooperation, research, peace education, youth engagement, interreligious and conflict transformation. 💬

KAICIID was proud to collaborate with the OPAPRU for the Conference, highlight the importance of interreligious and intercultural dialogue in Peace Education and peacebuilding across Southeast Asia.

We also had the pleasure of having the KAICIID partner Ima Abdulrahim from the The Caravanserai Collective, to put storytelling on the map for intercultural and inter religious engagement in Southeast Asia.

Together, these exchanges helped connect regional perspectives with practical approaches to Peace Education and peacebuilding. 💙

Today, on the International Day Commemorating the Victims of Acts of Violence Based on Religion or Belief, we remember the lives lost and communities affected by violence driven by hatred, intolerance and the misuse of religious identity. 🕊️

From the prefectures of the Central African Republic to Nigeria’s diverse landscape, our work reflects the power of inclusive dialogue in diverse societies. 🌍 In Nigeria alone, KAICIID
has supported the Interfaith Dialogue Forum for Peace, bringing together 100 Christian and Muslim religious leaders, while supporting around 20 local initiatives each year. 🤝

Today, we honour the victims and reaffirm our commitment to protecting , and the right to live according to one’s religion or belief without fear.

Dialogue can help turn difference into understanding, and diversity into a foundation for .
