📖 Genesis 19:13–17, 22–27

Sometimes, God asks us to leave something behind—not because He wants to take something good from us, but because He is leading us toward something better.

When the angels instructed Lot and his family to flee from S***m, the command was clear: do not look back. Yet Lot’s wife turned back and disobeyed God’s instruction. Her story became a lasting reminder of what can happen when we allow our hearts to remain attached to the things God has commanded us to leave.

I. God gives us clear instructions.
God does not leave us without direction. His Word teaches us how we should live and what we should obey.

II. Disobedience begins when we choose our own way.

Lot’s wife heard the instruction, but she chose to look back. Hearing God’s Word is not enough—we must obey it.

III. Disobedience has consequences.
Lot’s wife became a pillar of salt. Her example reminds us that God’s commands are serious and should never be taken lightly.

CONCLUSION
As Christians, let us trust God enough to leave behind the things He tells us to leave.
Let us not allow our past, our desires, or the things of this world to pull us away from Him.

Obey God. Trust His Word. Keep moving forward.

May the Lord guide Eira as she continues to grow, growing in love for Him, walking in His ways, living in reverence of His Word, and being surrounded by prayers, love, and godly guidance.

May her life be a beautiful testimony of God’s grace, and may she always know that she is deeply loved by Him. 🙏✨

Today, Talisay Church of Christ joyfully celebrates the Child Dedication, a beautiful reminder that every child is a precious gift from God and a trust entrusted to the care of loving parents and the church family.

As we dedicate this young life to the Lord, may Zyrah Lopez grow in wisdom, faith, and love, surrounded by the guidance and prayers.
May her parents remain faithful in leading this young child toward Christ, and may our church continue to be a place where children are loved, taught, and encouraged to know God.

“Train up a child in the way he should go; even when he is old he will not depart from it.” — Proverbs 22:6

May this child grow to become a blessing to her family, the church, and, above all, a life that brings glory to God. 🙏🤍
