Job 12:13
“To God belong wisdom and power; counsel and understanding are his.

When everything around us seems irrational—loss, unanswered prayers, injustice—it is a comfort to affirm that wisdom and power are not ours, but God’s. He established the world without help. He governs the universe on His terms. He watches us with His caring eyes. He is the God who bore our shame, guilt, and pain on the cross through Christ. He invites us to come to Him as we are, in faith.

May we rest in the unfailing wisdom of God, even when it is beyond ours.

Job 7:7a
Remember, O God, that my life is but a breath;

Life is brief and fragile — a breath, here one moment and gone the next. Our God who breathed life into us deeply cares for us. He proved it by giving us Jesus, who willingly laid down His life for our sins. And if He has already given us His best, we can trust Him to provide everything else we need.

May we honor Him for the rest of our lives.

Job 4:17
“Can a mortal be more righteous than God? Can even a strong man be more pure than his Maker?”

No human being can manufacture righteousness or achieve purity on their own. We try — measuring ourselves against others, keeping our record clean, quietly hoping it is enough. But God’s standard is not relative; it is His own holiness, and before that, every effort falls short. Righteousness is only credited to us through Christ, who died at the cross for us. He clothes us in righteousness we did not earn and could not keep.

May we believe in Him and the sacrifice He made for us.

Esther 4:14d
And who knows but that you have come to your royal position for such a time as this?”

Just as Queen Esther was positioned in the palace to rescue her people, God places us exactly where we are to serve His kingdom and bless others. Our calling may feel ordinary, but in God’s hands, it becomes sacred — appointed for His time. There are no accidents or coincidences in our lives — every season, position, and circumstance is under His sovereign care. With His direction and wisdom, He weaves our stories to yield His glory and for our good.

May we seek Him and live out our purpose.

Nehemiah 9:33
In all that has happened to us, you have remained righteous; you have acted faithfully, while we acted wickedly

In their misery, the Israelites refused to blame God, and instead acknowledged that their pain was the fruit of their own sin and rebellion. This honest reckoning is itself an act of faith — knowing that God’s judgments are indeed just. His faithfulness continues unbroken, His character unchanged, regardless of how far we stray.

When we humbly look back, may we see God’s patient hand in our lives. May we trust Him for what lies ahead.

Nehemiah 9:17c
But you are a forgiving God, gracious and compassionate, slow to anger and abounding in love.

Israel had forgotten God’s blessings — they rebelled and turned away from Him. We, too, are prone to forget His mercies and His goodness toward us. But God never forgets us, and He cannot change — yesterday, today, and forever He remains the same forgiving, compassionate, love-abounding God. What a reason to give thanks — not only for what He does, but for who He is. May our gratitude bring us to His feet, ready to love, serve, and worship Him.

Nehemiah 6:9b
“But I prayed, ‘Now strengthen my hands.’”

We may feel weak, but God is strong, and we can rest in His strength. Opposition may arise and problems will come, but we can ask Him for wisdom — and He will give it generously to all who ask.

God invites us into relationship with Himself. He gave Jesus to die for us so that we can come to Him freely, without shame and without fear. This life is filled with troubles, but Jesus has overcome the world, and because He has, we can overcome too.

May we surrender everything to Him and depend on Him.
