The Salvation Army in Upper Hutt is a church with a community ministries (social services) arm. Come and join us, we'd love to see you there!

Our mission is to care for people, transform lives and reform society through God in Christ by the Holy Spirit's power. We are a church that meets every Sunday morning at 10.30am at 695 Fergusson Drive in Upper Hutt. Part of our work in the community is through our Community Ministries Programme. We aim to meet peoples immediate needs, then empower them with the life skills necessary to improve their lives by connecting people to our corps/church. With the help of volunteers we are able to help with literacy, counselling, community meals, cooking classes, budgeting, advocacy, referrals to Bridge programme and a food bank.

Can you believe that the same God who created mountains, painted the skies, and filled this world with beauty is the God who holds US in His hands 🙌🏻. What a privilege to be held and loved by him.

Creation is constantly telling His story, even when the world feels loud and we forget to listen.

“The heavens declare the glory of God; the skies proclaim the work of his hands.” Psalm 19:1 ✨

May we never become so busy that we stop noticing the wonder of His creation. 🤍

As we walk through seasons in life we are often reminded that life can hold both deep joy and deep sorrow.

Some seasons our hearts may be heavy and questions may linger longer, but one thing never changes, we can take comfort in the unchanging goodness of God.

We may not always understand the path ahead of us or behind us, but we know that He walks with us through every valley, offering us a grace for today and hope for tomorrow.

Let’s continue to hold one another close in prayer, carry one another’s burdens and be a reflection of Christ’s love to those around us.

This Sunday, the clocks spring forward an hour for daylight saving! Sort your clocks before bed Saturday night, or your old clock will have you running an hour behind everyone else.

Yes, we lose an hour of sleep. Yes, it's 100% worth it for the long summer evenings ahead.

Set those clocks- we'll see you at the right time. 🕐🌼

💖Overwhelming Grace 💖

What a sermon from Sara on Sunday!
Weaving her testimony and real life experience of Jesus’s overwhelming grace for her into the story of the woman and her alabaster jar of perfume in Luke 7.

🩷 Jesus knows our heart's condition - how is yours?

🍽️ All are welcome at Jesus' table

🏺Take your alabaster jar to Jesus

Happy Father’s Day to our dads, brothers, uncles, friends and more who help shape our lives and community.

We are grateful for the role each and everyone of you plays in this world!

“The same way a loving father feels toward his children— that’s but a sample of your tender feelings toward us, your beloved children, who live in awe of you.”
