LOVE DOES NOT COVER SIN—LOVE SETS US FREE

Many say, “We speak love, not truth.” But biblical love does not hide what destroys us. Love speaks the truth because truth sets people free.

Scripture says, “Love covers a multitude of sins” (1 Peter 4:8). In context, this speaks of love refusing to hold offenses against others and choosing forgiveness, patience, and reconciliation. It does not mean that love gives us permission to continue living in sin or to conceal sin without repentance.

Jesus did not come merely to cover our sinful condition—He came to save us from it.

“You shall call His name Jesus, for He will save His people from their sins.” — Matthew 1:21

Grace is not permission to remain in bo***ge. Grace teaches us to deny ungodliness and live righteously (Titus 2:11–12).

True love therefore does not say, “It’s okay, keep doing it.”
True love says, “There is freedom for you. Come out of it.”

We need both love and truth.
Love without truth can become compromise.
Truth without love can become harshness.
But biblical love speaks truth with grace because its desire is not condemnation—it is repentance, restoration, and freedom in Christ.

True Spiritual Leaders

True spiritual leaders operate through divine alignment, defined by submission to God’s will, humility, and selfless servant leadership. They faithfully represent Christ, build people, and remain accountable to God’s Word.

False Leaders

False leaders operate according to the flesh, seeking self-glorification, financial gain, personal influence, and control. Rather than pointing people to Christ, they often seek to draw people to themselves.

TRUE LEADERS

* Called and appointed by God.
* Submit to God’s Word and His authority.
* Serve as faithful stewards and under-shepherds.
* Embrace spiritual accountability.
* Lead by the Holy Spirit rather than personal ambition.

FALSE LEADERS

* Often self-appointed.
* Claim exclusive spiritual authority or a “special anointing.”
* Reject correction and accountability.
* Demand loyalty to themselves instead of Christ.
* Use spiritual influence to control others.
