From calling Peter as a fisherman to restoring him after his denial, Jesus’ invitation remained the same: “Follow Me.”

Today, that same invitation is for us. Who is Jesus to you? Do you love Him more than your relationships, achievements, and everything you hold dear?

May we respond to His call with love, faith, and surrender, allowing Him to transform us into fishers of men.

“If you harbour the hurt, the past has imprisoned your present and prevented you from living into the future.”

Last weekend, Pr Dato’ Daniel Ho brought us back to the heart of the Christian message: forgiveness (Matthew 6:9-15). It doesn’t ask us to pretend the hurt never happened. It asks us to release it, again and again, so that we and the people who hurt us can be set free and healed.

Not forgive and forget, but forgive and forbear (Ephesians 4:2).

The rich man in Luke 12 did what many of us were taught to do: work hard and store up for the future. Last Sunday, Joa Wee showed us that Jesus invites us to go further, and to live today in view of eternity (Luke 12:16-21, 2 Cor 4:18). That means taking the temporary things we’ve acquired and continuously sowing them into the eternal.

The Lord has put three gifts in our hands: MONEY, TIME and LOVE (1 John 4:19). None of them are meant to be squandered. Each one is ours to use for more than ourselves.

God’s wisdom doesn’t come from the world. Sometimes, His ways may look foolish to the world- but our minds are called to be transformed and formed by Christ.

When life feels distracting, overwhelming or when we’re stuck in indecision, we need to return to His Word and truth. Real faith means making space for God, choosing the right community with godly values and, being faithful and fruitful with what He has given us- our time, strength and resources.

City Light, faith isn’t just something we believe, but 𝐢𝐭’𝐬 𝐬𝐨𝐦𝐞𝐭𝐡𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐰𝐞 𝐩𝐫𝐚𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐜𝐞.

Fulfilling His mission begins with a heart of submission. It’s not about having everything figured out, but about trusting God and choosing to obey.

Through prayer, fellowship, and walking together, may we learn to submit to God and to one another, and faithfully live out His mission. 🩷
