Mission begins with God. The Father sent the Son, and through Christ, we are sent too as seen in John 17:18. The Missio Dei- the mission of God, reminds us that mission isnโ€™t first about what we do for God, but about joining what God is already doing in the world.

So how do we live on mission?
01 โ€” ๐—๐—ข๐—œ๐—ก what God is already doing.
02 โ€” ๐—Ÿ๐—œ๐—ฉ๐—˜ it before you speak it. (Matthew 5:16)
03 โ€” ๐—ช๐—”๐—Ÿ๐—ž (journey) with people. Donโ€™t hand them off.

We are sent, not because we have all the answers, but because God is already on mission and He invites us to join Him.

Luke 15 challenges us to examine whether we are pursuing the Father or simply what we can receive from Him.

Both sons were living more like servants than sons. Yet the Father pursued them both; with love, grace, and an invitation back into relationship. Proximity is not the same as knowing. May we learn to live with expectancy rather than expectation. Trusting the Father, knowing His heart, and extending the same pursuing love to others.

In Mark 10, the rich young ruler had everything, yet struggled to let go of what he treasured most to follow Jesus.

Sometimes, what holds us back isnโ€™t what we lack, but what we refuse to surrender. Jesus calls us to live with open handsโ€”to abide in Him, be filled with the Holy Spirit, and reflect Christ wherever we go.

May we surrender what we hold tightly and follow Jesus wholeheartedly.

Lament is not a sign of weakness or a lack of faith. It is an invitation to be honest with God in seasons of grief, confusion and uncertainty. Like Jeremiah, we can bring our deepest emotions to Him while choosing to remember who He is. (Lamentations 3:21โ€“26)

Radical hope begins with remembering: life changes, but God doesnโ€™t. His love never runs out, His mercies never end, and His faithfulness remains. Even when we cannot see whatโ€™s ahead, we can choose to hope in Him. (Habakkuk 3:17โ€“18)

Remorse looks back. Repentance turns around.

Last Sunday, Pr Joa Wee reminded us that repentance isnโ€™t about staying stuck in guilt or punishing ourselves for our mistakes. Itโ€™s choosing to turn back to God, to surrender our pride and to allow Him to change the direction of our lives.

โ€œWhoever wants to be my disciple must deny themselves and take up their cross daily and follow me.โ€โ€ - Luke 9:23

And the good news? God meets us right where we are- even in the middle of our mess. So when we realise weโ€™ve gone off course, we donโ€™t have to stay stuck.
Fix your eyes on the cross and begin a new direction with God.

Last Sunday, Pr Daniel brought us โ€œWhy Agreeโ€from Matthew 18:19-20 - a word on unity in the body of Christ.

Disagreement often stems from a need for chaos, ego defense, or cognitive dissonance. But God calls us to confront in love - moving from offence to gain, from insecurity to humility, from preference to conviction.

Unity is a choice: to integrate rather than differentiate, to complement rather than compete. Living that out means listening to love (not to judge), valuing others above ourselves, and humbly submitting after the example of Christ (Philippians 2:1-11).

The gospel is not just how we articulate it. Itโ€™s how we live our lives.

We are not the first generation to face hard things. But we might be the first to face them at this speed, at this volum...

We are not the first generation to face hard things. But we might be the first to face them at this speed, at this volume, with this much noise.
Mental health struggles among young people are rising. Depression, anxiety, and burnout are no longer rare conversations. They are happening in your school, your church, your group chat.

STRONK is a two-day workshop designed for Gen Z and Gen A who want honest answers. Not a motivational pep talk. Not a list of dos and donโ€™ts. A real, hands-on space to learn what resilience actually looks like when life gets hard, and what your faith has to say about it.
Dr Kam Wong, a Child, Adolescent and Family Psychiatrist from Australia and guest lecturer at MBTS, will walk you through the science and the spirituality of emotional resilience. Together you will explore how to stay present when anxiety pulls you backward, how to find your footing when the ground shifts, and how to face your hardest emotions without being destroyed by them.

This is for the ones holding it together. And the ones who are not.
