Hoy, 21 de mayo, nos unimos en una sola alma y un solo corazón para conmemorar el XXVI Aniversario de la Canonización de San Cristóbal Magallanes y sus 24 compañeros mártires. En el año 2000, la Iglesia reconoció ante el mundo la valentía de estos 22 presbíteros y 3 laicos que regaron el suelo mexicano con su sangre por amor a la Verdad. 🕊️🔥

Como Caballeros de Colón, nos sentimos profundamente honrados, ya que varios de ellos formaron parte de las filas de nuestra Orden, encarnando el verdadero Patriotismo y la fe inquebrantable.

Hoy grabamos con orgullo y devoción sus nombres en nuestra memoria:

Nuestra misión se fortalece con su herencia divina:

✅ Fidelidad Absoluta al Altar: Estos santos sacerdotes no abandonaron a su grey; celebraron los sacramentos en la clandestinidad y cuidaron de sus comunidades a costa de sus propias vidas. Los laicos, por su parte, defendieron con heroísmo su derecho a vivir la fe en libertad. Nos enseñan a ser el brazo fuerte de la Iglesia en nuestros Consejos. ⛪🙏

✅ El Valor del Perdón: Al igual que el Maestro, murieron perdonando a sus verdugos, pidiendo que su sacrificio sirviera para la paz y la Unidad de la patria. Su testimonio nos invita a ser hombres de reconciliación, pero firmes en la doctrina. ❤️🛡️

✅ Un Eco que No Se Apaga: Sus últimas palabras no fueron de odio, sino el grito glorioso que hoy hacemos nuestro con más fuerza que nunca:

Hermanos, que el ejemplo de estos 25 héroes de la fe nos impulse a ser valientes testigos del Evangelio en nuestras familias y en nuestra sociedad.

Today the Church observes the memorial of the Mexican martyrs, among them six priests who were members of the Knights of Columbus. When the Cristero War broke out 100 years ago, Catholics in Mexico faced increasing persecution and even martyrdom at the hands of the government. In the face of these difficulties, the Knights of Columbus mounted an international campaign to defend the rights of the Church, raising $1 million for a campaign to educate the public and assist those affected.

Pope Pius XI explicitly recognized the Order’s role in his encyclical Iniquis Afflictisque, published Nov. 18, 1926, in response to the persecution in Mexico: “First of all we mention the Knights of Columbus … made up of active and industrious members who, because of their practical lives and open profession of the Faith, as well as by their zeal in assisting the Church, have brought great honor upon themselves.”

Knights of Columbus Supreme Knight Patrick Kelly yesterday gratefully accepted the 2026 Path to Peace Award from the Path to Peace Gala Foundation. The Path to Peace Gala Foundation, in support of the work of the Permanent Observer Mission of the Holy See to the United Nations in New York and urgent humanitarian causes, honors an individual each year for outstanding service to the cause of peace. The Path to Peace Award was presented to Supreme Knight Kelly by Archbishop Gabriele G. Caccia, Apostolic Nuncio to the United States and Path to Peace Foundation President.

The Permanent Observer Mission of the Holy See to the United Nations was officially established on April 6, 1964 and has since been a prominent leader in the advancement of peace and justice in the international community, serving as a vehicle for promoting the teachings of the Catholic Church.

“On behalf of more than 2.2 million Knights of Columbus around the world, it’s an incredible honor to accept the Path to Peace Award from the Permanent Observer Mission of the Holy See to the United Nations,” said Supreme Knight Kelly. “More than 140 years ago, Blessed Michael McGivney founded the Knights on the pillars of charity, unity, and fraternity. Today, we are proud to continue this mission around the world, in our parish councils and communities, and in nations facing the devasting impacts of war and religious intolerance. We pray that our efforts will help to bring peace and ease suffering, as we give witness to the hope that comes from Jesus Christ.”

LX JORNADA MUNDIAL DE LAS COMUNICACIONES SOCIALES.

Vivimos el tiempo de la promesa: La fiesta de la Ascensión nos dice que Jesús, aunque ascendió al cielo para morar gloriosamente a la derecha del Padre, está todavía y siempre entre nosotros: de ahí viene nuestra fuerza, nuestra perseverancia y nuestra alegría, precisamente de la presencia de Jesús entre nosotros con el poder del Espíritu Santo. En aquel tiempo, los once discípulos se fueron a Galilea, al monte que Jesús les había indicado. Al verlo, ellos se postraron, pero algunos dudaron.
Acercándose a ellos, Jesús les dijo:
«Se me ha dado todo poder en el cielo y en la tierra. Id, pues, y haced discípulos a todos los pueblos, bautizándolos en el nombre del Padre y del Hijo y del Espíritu Santo; enseñándoles a guardar todo lo que os he mandado.

“Go, therefore, and make disciples of all nations.” — Matthew 28:19

In today’s Gospel, the risen Jesus sends His disciples on mission. Even in their uncertainty, He entrusts them with the work of sharing the Good News and baptizing in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit.

He does not send them alone. His promise is clear: “I am with you always.”

We are part of that mission today, called to witness to Christ in our homes, our communities, and the world.

🙏 Lord, give us courage to share Your truth and trust in Your presence every step of the way.
