The Knights and Ladies of Marshall have concluded a one day spiritual retreat at the Holy Spirit Cathedral Parish in B**g, bringing together members for reflection, prayer, and renewal of faith.
The retreat was held under the theme “Recollection of Faith,” focused on strengthening the spiritual commitment of members and encouraging them to deepen their relationship with God and the Church.
Serving as, retreat master the Associate Pastor of the Holy Spirit Cathedral Parish, Rev. Fr. Michael Gborie, urged the Knights and Ladies of Marshall to embrace a higher standard of Christian living.
He reminded them that being a Knight is not simply a title within the Catholic Church, but a sacred responsibility.
Fr. Gborie called on the members to live spiritually disciplined lives, distinguishing themselves not just as ordinary Catholics but as committed soldiers of Christ.
He also emphasized that knighthood in the Catholic Church represents dedication, sacrifice, and readiness to defend the faith at all times.
Fr. Gborie told the Knights that they are soldiers of God, which they are called to defend the Catholic faith and to serve as examples in your homes, communities, and the Church.
The Associate Pastor further stressed the importance of unity and inclusion. He cautioned members against allowing their status or lifestyle as Catholic Knights to become a barrier that discourages non-Catholics from participating in the faith. Instead, he encouraged them to demonstrate humility and love, explaining the mission and benefits of the Knights of Marshall in ways that inspire others.
Moreover Fr. Gborie, told the Knights that the true strength of the Knights lies not in prestige, but in service, evangelization, and commitment to God’s work.
The one day retreat ended with renewed spiritual energy among participants, who expressed appreciation for the timely message and pledged to remain steadfast in their calling as defenders of the Catholic faith and promoters of unity within the body of Christ.
