MESSAGE OF CONDOLENCE AND PRAYERS FOLLOWING THE FIRE TRAGEDY AT UTUMISHI GIRLS ACADEMY, NAKURU COUNTY.
The Methodist Church in Kenya is deeply grieved by the tragic fire incident at Utumishi Girls Academy that has claimed the lives of innocent young learners and left others injured.
On behalf of the Methodist Church in Kenya, I extend heartfelt sympathies to the bereaved families, relatives, friends, and the entire school fraternity during this season of sorrow and anguish. Losing young lives in such a painful manner is devastating, and we pray that God, in His mercy and love, will uphold and comfort all those affected.
We also remember in prayer the students and all others who suffered injuries and trauma as a result of this tragedy. May the Lord grant them healing, courage, and full recovery as they undergo treatment and emotional restoration.
This unfortunate incident calls for renewed commitment from all stakeholders to ensure that schools remain safe environments for our children. We urge the relevant authorities to carry out comprehensive investigations and take the necessary measures to safeguard learners and prevent future occurrences of such heartbreaking disasters.
As a Church, we stand together with the affected families and the nation in mourning and prayer, trusting God to give strength and hope even in this difficult hour.
“The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit.” — Psalm 34:18
