Hurt, pain, and disappointment can make loving our families difficult. But because God first loved us, we can choose to love, forgive, and extend grace to our families.

We live in a world where love can easily become misdirected—toward ourselves, money, pleasure, and other things instead of God. It’s time to redirect our love. God’s design for love begins with Him and flows outward:

LOVE GOD — Give Him your whole life, not just your Sundays.
LOVE YOUR FAMILY — Let your home be the first place where Christ’s love is seen, lived out, and passed on.
LOVE OTHERS — Love people as Jesus loved us and join His mission of sharing the Gospel and making disciples.

Ultimately, we can only love others well when we first receive and experience God’s love.

Where do you need to redirect your love today?

When God transforms our hearts, His love overflows in the way we care for others. May we remember this verse as we see the people God has placed in our lives as opportunities to love just as He loves us.
