πŸ’™ KETTERING STREET PASTORS – SATURDAY PATROLS REPORT πŸ’™

β˜€οΈ SATURDAY DAY PATROL

🧢 We called into a shop that will be starting a craft market on its premises later in September.

πŸ™ We met a lady who was feeling a little uncertain about forthcoming surgery, which had been postponed from this week.

πŸ›οΈ We chatted with staff in a town-centre charity shop and spoke to a new Big Issue seller.

πŸ’™ It was lovely to meet a former Street Pastor and his wife, who were enjoying a morning of shopping in town.

β›ͺ We spoke with several religious groups who were handing out leaflets and inviting people to church services and Bible study classes. One church hopes to begin holding services in its new town-centre premises later this month, once the final refurbishment work is completed.

🎨 We visited the new art gallery, chatted with employees and met a local artist displaying her work. Pieces by many local artists were on display this week.

πŸ™ We met two churchmen who had just finished a prayer session in the Market Place. They were promoting a new prayer and hymns initiative planned for later in September.

πŸ’™ We checked on some rough sleepers and also called into one of the venues we regularly visit during our night-time patrols.

πŸ₯• The Food Bank told us that the price of vegetables is rising dramatically this harvest following the very dry summer.

β˜€οΈ It was a lovely, sunny morning in Kettering town centreβ€”summer is still here!

πŸ₯ We assisted a young man experiencing pain in his shoulder. A good friend stayed with him while a taxi took him to A&E.

🩹 We gave first aid to a young woman with an injured toe. She was then able to continue celebrating with her friends.

πŸ’Ό We chatted with a young man who was due to work at the local hospital the following morning. He was eager to get home and rest before starting work.

πŸ•Ί We shared a few dance moves with a young man enjoying a night out with his mother!

🌍 We had a long and encouraging debate with a young man about how different religions could come together to help make the world a better place.

πŸ’™ We met a young woman who wanted to keep her friend as safe as possible by watching over her while she was drunk and making sure she arrived home safely.

πŸ… We had a lively conversation with a man whose family member was pursuing a career in sport. He was extremely proud of her and asked us to pray for her success.

🀝 We had a reassuring conversation with a young man struggling with personal issues. He felt much better after talking with us.

πŸ™ We prayed for a young woman preparing for an interview for a job in public service. We all wished her the very best of luck.

πŸ₯€ We met several homeless people during the night, providing refreshments and comforting conversations.

🌟 PRIDE IN PLACE – KETTERING 🌟
A few photos from this afternoon’s free family fun day at Avondale Grange.

Following a last-minute request to attend, our colleague went alongβ€”and was glad he did!

There was plenty for families to enjoy, including face painting, circus skills, balloon modelling and street artists. 🎨🎈πŸŽͺ

The event introduced local residents to the government-backed Pride in Place Programme, provided an opportunity to share ideas for improving the area and gave people the chance to meet Kettering Town Council councillors.

Avondale Grange is set to receive up to Β£20 million of investment over the next 10 years, helping to build a stronger community, address deprivation and deliver lasting improvements to the neighbourhood.

A community-led Neighbourhood Board is now being established to help shape the regeneration plan.

Further updates are available on the North Northamptonshire Council website.

πŸ’™ KETTERING STREET PASTORS – WEEKEND PATROLS πŸ’™
We have two patrols serving Kettering again this weekend!

β˜€οΈ Our daytime team will start us off tomorrow, patrolling the town centre from 10am–12 noon. Please say hello if you see them!

πŸŒ™ Team 1 will then be out from 10.30pm–2.30am, working alongside the Safer Night Out (SNO) van and supported by our wonderful Prayer Pastors. πŸ™

If you need help during your night out, please speak to a Street Pastor or visit the SNO van near Wetherspoons. We can offer water, flip-flops, personal alarms, phone charging, anti-spiking products and a listening ear.

A huge thank you to everyone giving up their time to care for our town. Please keep both teams and everyone enjoying Kettering in your prayers.

Have a safe and enjoyable weekend, everyone! πŸ’™ xx

⚠️ THINK BEFORE YOU POST ⚠️
This may look like a normal back-to-school photoβ€”but look at what you could be telling a predator:

🏠 Your house number

πŸ“ Your street name

πŸš— Your car registration

🏫 Which school your child attends

πŸŽ‚ Your child’s age

β˜• Your name

πŸ’ That you’re married

And that’s before you add a caption containing their names and even more personal information.

Please check photos carefully before sharing them online. Make sure nothing identifies your child, their school or where you live.

πŸ”’ Keep personal information private. Keep your children safe.

πŸŒ™ FRIDAY NIGHT

A good evening overall in Kettering, with lots of appreciation and love shown towards the Street Pastorsβ€”and plenty of requests for photographs! πŸ“Έ

🎧 We had a good conversation with a gentleman who works as a DJ and was disappointed that the disco in town had been cancelled that evening.

πŸ’Ό We spoke with a young couple. One was a carer, while the other had applied unsuccessfully for more than 50 jobs. We listened to his situation and promised to pray for him and his future. πŸ™

πŸ’™ We had a lengthy conversation with a young man who was understandably upset about not having access to his young child. We were able to offer practical support, encouragement and words of comfort.

πŸ‘Ά We met a young mum enjoying an evening out after leaving her four-month-old baby in the care of her brother. We had an interesting conversation about parenthood and the responsibilities that come with it.

🏠 We spent time talking with one of the homeless people we met during the evening. He was concerned that his mother did not know where he was, so we promised to contact her the following day to reassure her that he was okay.

🚨 At the end of the evening, we became aware of a fight taking place. This was reported to CCTV and the police attended in due course. By the time they arrived, the situation had calmed down.

🌧️ SATURDAY NIGHT

It was a very wet night in Kettering, but there were still plenty of people out enjoying the nightlife, most of whom were in good spirits! β˜”

πŸ’™ We received a visit and thanks from a young woman who had received support and counselling from Street Pastors in the past.

πŸš‘ We supported venue staff in assisting a member of the public who had been involved in a collision with a vehicle, remaining with them until the police and paramedics arrived.

πŸ™ We spoke with and prayed for a new mum.

🀝 We checked on and calmed a man whose behaviour had caused concern for some members of the public.

πŸ‘€ We alerted CCTV to the presence of a possible predatory male.

πŸ’œ We supported a lone woman who had escaped a domestic violence situation and helped her reach a safe place where she could receive help and support.

🏠 We spoke with a rough sleeper who had met Friday night’s team and updated him on the steps that had been taken to help him.

πŸ™ We spoke with an older lady who was enjoying a night out and heading home alone, and prayed for her safe journey.

πŸ₯€ We spoke with and prayed for two young women on a night out. We also helped two other women who requested drink protectors from the team, having been spiked on a previous night out.

Another busy weekend of LISTENING, CARING AND HELPING on the streets of Kettering. πŸ’™

πŸ“±βš‘ BEHIND THE SCENES! βš‘πŸ“»
There’s plenty to prepare before our Street Pastors head out on patrol!

Here’s one of our brilliant colleagues checking and charging all the phones and radios! πŸ˜‚

Making sure our equipment is fully charged and working is essential for keeping our teams safe and connected throughout the night.

Thank you to everyone who quietly works behind the scenes to make each patrol possible. πŸ’™
