Open Table Kendal

Time flies past, and we are already looking forward to our next Open Table Kendal gathering! We meet on Sunday 20th September when Hilary will help us to celebrate Creation-tide and Harvest-tide. We meet as usual from 6.15pm to share soup, bread, refreshments and social time to chat and meet others. Then our service is from 7pm which includes Holy Communion. We meet at Kendal United Reformed Church, 106 Highgate, LA9 4HE. All are welcome!

Something a it different for our summer (August) Kendal Open table gathering. Correct day and date this time! We will be taking time to use the ancient spiritual practice of a labyrinth to reflect and pray together. Meet from 6.15pm when finger food and drinks will be available and participate in preparing the labyrinth together. Then at 7pm there will be a very brief service, followed by the chance to walk the labyrinth and reflect and pray about how we would like to see our lives being transformed. Communion will be shared at the centre of the labyrinth. We meet as usual at Kendal United Reformed church, 106 Highgate, LA9 4HE. All are welcome at our services and activities. Come as You Are.

Those who were at our service yesterday will have heard me speak of the funding crisis currenlty facing our National network. The reasons why there is a funding crisis (ie it has become unacceptable to support trans-inclusive groups) is exactly why we need to support our Open Table network and communities. Please give even a little if you can!

LGBTQIA+ inclusive faith communities across the UK could lose their national support network. Open Table needs £16,000 by December.

All are welcome to join us on Sunday 19th July for our Open Table Kendal meeting. We meet at Kendal United Reformed Church, 106 Highgate, Kendal, LA9 4HE from 6.15pmm for soup, bread, refreshments with our worship service at 7pm. This month will be led by Tim Tom Jeffries and Kate Hunt with the theme "You are my People."
Hope to see lots of people there. Remember if travelling from out of town we can offer lifts to/ from train and bus stations if that would be helpful!

This week Kendal Open Table continues Pride celebrations with our regular service. This month's service will be led by Claire-Peter with guest speaker Rev. Clive Shaw. Please join us for soup, bread, refreshments and social time from 6.15pm with the worship service including Holy Communion at 7pm. All are welcome- come as you are!

Coming to Kendal Pride?
Please do drop in at our labyrinth on Sunday 14th June. Come and explore this spiritual space in your own way using the colours of the Pride flag as inspiration. Drop in any time between 10am and 1.30pm. All are welcome from any background.

Not long now!
Very exciting Kendal Pride coming up please do come and join us! First time ever Saturday starts with a procession from the Birdcage to the Pride village at Abbot's Hall where we will have our Open Table/ Christians at Pride stall. Come and share the joy and good news with Little Jesus.
On Sunday a quieter and more reflective day with the Labyrinth Spiritual space on offer in Abbot's Hall Park. Everyone welcome to join as much or as little as you wish. Bring your friends!

We are 2 years old! Thank you to everyone who has been part of the Open Table Kendal Journey. As we look forward to our next year, or 2, we want to continue to grow in strength and numbers.
