🚶🏻‍♀️FUNDRAISING EVENT 🚶🏻‍♀️

This Saturday (20th June), we are hosting a special event, organised by one of our young adults. Sickle Cell is a condition affecting the blood and it can be a very serious, tough condition for many people to live with, including Mapalo. Friday 19th June is World Sickle Cell Day, so this event is to celebrate Sickle Cell Warriors around the world and help raise awareness and funds for their work.

Come for a walk (around an hour, from church to Shalford and back), from 12.45-2pm (leaving church at 1!), then join us for refreshments and a chance to hear more about Sickle Cell and Mapalo's inspiring story. If you can't make the walk, why not come down after for the second part? 😄

The event is free, but there will be crafts and merchandise being sold, and our fabulous balloon team will be creating something special to help raise awareness of what Sickle Cell Warriors do and how you can also support them in prayer or financially. Please consider donating to this important cause that is close to Mapalo's heart. All donations will go towards the Sickle Cell Society.

✨ THRIVE MENTORING TRAINING ✨

Ever thought about becoming a mentor? Want to support young people to THRIVE in their personal and spiritual lives? 😊

The Thrive Mentoring Programme is a new programme in the church, aiming to pair young people up with adults who can be encouragers, wisdom-sharers, or pass on practical skills that may help young people to serve in the church or use in other areas of life.

If you would like to come and find out more about what mentoring is, learn about the Thrive programme, and be trained to mentor a young person, sign up to the interactive training sessions in June (Weds 3rd, 10th, 17th & 24th- 7.30-9.30pm)- www.guildfordbaptist.org/thrivetraining (link in bio)📱💻 You can attend the training sessions without committing to being paired with a mentee.

Please join us next Thursday evening (21st May) for our Church Members' Meeting. Come from 7.30pm for refreshments, and the meeting will start at 8pm.

We will be worshipping and praying together, and hearing some great updates about Open Grounds Cafe, our Welcome Chaplains, pastorates, and more.

📸✝️ EASTER HIGHLIGHTS PT1 ✝️📸

We don’t have photos of every event and service over Holy Week, but here are just a few great moments!

🌟 We started with Shine Your Light- sharing the Gospel and the goodness of God to our town. Thank you to everyone who helped and got involved
✝️ The Good Friday Walk of Witness was traditionally busy, with representatives from each church around Guildford following the cross through up the high street and sharing a special time together
🎭 We had a fantastic All Age breakfast and service on Good Friday morning. We explored Jesus’ crucifixion through sensory activities and the drama group did another amazing performance, as usual
⛅️ God blessed us with another lovely sunrise on St Martha’s for the Sunrise Service on Easter Sunday
🌊 The morning service on Easter Sunday was full and joyful, celebrating the baptisms of Fabiano and Michelle. Congratulations!
🚶‍♂️🚶‍♀️ LOTS of our Millmead family joined the walk on Easter Monday!

What a great Easter! God is good.
