A prayer for Mental Health Awareness Week

Loving God,
As Jesus you shared in our human experiences of life,
knowing both its joys and sufferings:
You know what it is to love and be loved,
but also what it is to be betrayed or bereaved;
You know what it is to enjoy life and the beauty of creation,
but also what it is to feel want, loneliness and pain.

And so, Lord, we bring to you in prayer all the times
when we, those we know and love, and
so many of our human family around the world,
are struggling to cope with life’s difficulties.
We pray for those who feel hopeless, helpless or heartbroken,
that through words of understanding and deeds of kindness,
through being heard, accepted and respected,
all may feel your loving touch upon their lives,
restoring, comforting and bring hope.

In the name of Jesus who reached out to heal bodies, minds and spirits, and came to offer Life in all its fullness to all humankind. Amen.
