Daresbury Church Semi-rural Anglican Parish Church in Cheshire, world famous for its connection with Lewis Carroll. Services at 11am every Sunday and 6pm on the 1st, 2nd & 4th.

In the Church is the Alice Window dedicated to Lewis Carroll and the new Lewis Carroll Centre. We are in the liberal Catholic tradition. We pride ourselves in the quality of our worship, music and welcome. We serve the villages of Daresbury, Moore, Hatton, Preston Brook, Preston-on-the-Hill and the new development of Sandymoor.

Tomorrow we meet again after the summer holidays. I do hope you had an enjoyable time with your children. Now it’s back to the routine of school and nursery - unless, perhaps you are caring for a newborn or toddler.

Storytime Sunday 6th September at 10.00 am - Story and craft activities followed by refreshments and blessing of pencil cases, school bags etc - see below

The Lectionary readings for the next few weeks - the set readings for the Christian Church - cover the story of Moses leading the Israelites out of captivity in Egypt to the Promised Land. Tomorrow’s reading covers the beginning of the journey as the Israelites prepare for the first Passover. We will be thinking about ways in which we get ready for God in our everyday lives.

The theme of getting ready ties in nicely with the children getting ready for the new school year.

Revd Keith , who is taking our 11.00am service, will bless the children’s pencil cases, school bag, lunch box or whatever is important to your child when they set off for nursery, child minder or school.

Sue will be here preparing the refreshments and we both look forward to seeing you suitably prepared to celebrate the journey into the new school year.
