We're looking forward to our Sunday Morning Gathering tomorrow at 9:30am in the Community Centre (Leet Room).

Where we'll explore together how when we feel of little value, or when we feel we don't have much to offer, so those can be some of our best times of giving to, and service of, others - when we give ourselves first to God.

Prayer and Reflection for the Week.

Reading:
"Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for men, since you know that you will receive an inheritance from the Lord as a reward. It is the Lord Christ you are serving." Colossians 3:23-24

Reflection:
I wonder how often you've felt like your daily work has little spiritual value; or just little value; finding yourself simply going through the motions and wondering why?

As we think about this, we see that the reading above offers a revolutionary perspective on how we see all that we do. For we see how it can, if we choose, transform even the most ordinary tasks into an act of worship.

When we see ourselves working for Christ, for something bigger, rather than just for a paycheck or human approval, everything changes. We can choose to see all that we do as something done, not just for the good of ourselves, or for the benefit of others; but we can choose to see it as an offering to God, something that pleases him.

Today, try viewing your work through this lens: you're not just doing a job, you're serving Jesus Himself. And as you reflect upon this, you'll sense how this brings a sense of dignity, purpose, and joy to whatever work fills your day.

Prayer:
Heavenly Father, transform my perspective on work today. Help me to see each task as an opportunity to honor You. Whether my work is seen or unseen, rewarding or challenging, I choose to do it wholeheartedly for You. May my hands and heart work in ways that please You and point others to Jesus. Amen.

My work, no matter how big or small, is meaningful when done for Christ. God values my effort and sees my heart

A prayer for all those still affected by the recent disaster in Nepal and Tibet.

Loving God, we pray for all those affected by the floods in Nepal and Tibet.

Be near to those who mourn the loss of loved ones, and to all who wait in uncertainty for news of family and friends.

Hold close those whose homes, livelihoods and communities have been swept away, and all who are shocked, displaced or afraid.

Strengthen rescue workers, local communities, churches and all who are searching, serving and offering care in the midst of this crisis.

Grant courage and resilience to those waiting for news, facing uncertainty, and fearing the days ahead.

As we witness the growing fragility of creation, renew our commitment to care for one another and for the earth of which we are a part.

In the name of Christ. Amen.

Reflection and Prayer for the Week:

Reading:
“When Jesus came to the region of Caesarea Philippi, he asked his disciples, ‘Who do people say the Son of Man is?’” (Matthew 16:13)

Reflection:
Notice how Jesus begins by asking about others’ opinions, not because He is interested in public relations, but to highlight a fundamental danger: the vice of living through the prism of external judgment.

When we constantly ask, “What do people say?”, we surrender our internal authority to the whims of the crowd, social trends, and public opinion. This lifestyle is a recipe for internal chaos.

If we spend our days adjusting our identity to fit society’s shifting expectations, we will never develop the inner strength required to live a mature, faithful life.

Following the crowd is becoming an increasingly hostile path for those who seek to follow Christ. Jesus is calling us to leave the “anonymous” safety of the group. He asks us the same question He asked the disciples, but He directs it to us personally: “Who do you say I am?”

To answer this, we must step out of the noise and enter a face-to-face encounter with Him. Only in that silence do we find the strength to be who we were truly created to be.

Prayer:
Lord, I realize that I often carry the weight of other people’s expectations, which keeps me from moving freely toward You. Forgive me for seeking validation from the crowd instead of resting in Your truth. Help me to stop living by the standards of this world and its fleeting trends. Today, I step away from the noise to be alone with You. Reveal Yourself to me, and give me the courage to follow You even when the world suggests otherwise. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

For further reflection:
Identify one area of your life where you are currently making decisions based on “what others will say”; today, try making one choice based solely on your personal conviction and your commitment to God, regardless of how it is perceived by the crowd.

Reflection and Prayer for the Week:

Reading:
"If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness." 1 John 1:9

Reflection:
That mistake you can't stop replaying? That thing you said that you wish you could take back? That choice you regret? God isn't sitting in heaven keeping score or holding grudges. He's waiting with open arms, ready to forgive the moment you're honest with Him.

Confession isn't about groveling or proving how sorry you are. It's about agreeing with God about what happened and accepting the clean slate He's eager to give you. The weight you're carrying wasn't meant to stay on your shoulders. He wants to take it; all of it; and make you new again.

Prayer:
God, I'm tired of hiding and pretending I have it all together. Here's what I need to confess...
Thank You that Your forgiveness is already waiting for me. Wash me clean and help me walk in freedom today. Amen.

Just Remember:
God's forgiveness is bigger than your biggest mistake.
