Thought for the week:

It can so often today feel like society praises success and punishes failure.
When people get things right they are applauded and place d on a pedestal - and we are encouraged to be like them, to seek success so that we too might be praised.
But when people fail people are so quickly punished - sacked, replaced, whatever it might be. And we are reminded - don't do what they did.

And all of this can be so damaging to our own sense of self.

Winston Churchill once said: “Success is not final, failure is not fatal: it is the courage to continue that counts.”

And he reminds us that courage is one of the most important qualities we can develop. He reminds us too that both success and failure are parts of our journey, we will occasionally get things wrong (sometimes big-time) and we will occasionally get things right - but perseverance; the ability to pick ourselves up, place our feet on the ground and keep going; is what truly matters. For it is only by continuing to push forward; push through, that we can learn from our experiences and grow stronger.
Let’s keep using our courage to face life’s challenges!

Prayer and Reflection for the Week:

Reading:
"Neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God." Romans 8:39

Reflection:
Do you ever feel that, because of what you've done, or because of what has been done to you, God could never love you?
Our short reading today reminds us that no distance, no mistake, no force on earth or in heaven can cut us off from God's love. It reminds us that God's love is not fragile or temporary or conditional - it's unbreakable, unstoppable, unconditional, and always holding on to us, even if sometimes we don't notice.
When fear, shame, or doubt try to speak louder, remember: God’s love won’t let go.

Prayer:
God, thank You for a love that nothing can break. Help me live like I’m fully loved; —because I am. Amen.

Just remember:
God's love is not based on my performance, my past, or my potential.

Thought for the Week:

I wonder how often you feel like just giving up or giving in?
We can so often feel we're trying, pushing, working hard - but for what?
It can feel like what we do just doesn't have any impact at all. And it can be tempting to simply stop.

If that's how you feel, then to encourage you Confucius once said:
“It does not matter how slowly you go as long as you do not stop.”

And it reminds us that what we do does make a difference; that progress is still progress, no matter the pace. This quote serves as a reminder that persistence is key to accomplishments. We may encounter obstacles along the way, but as long as we keep moving forward, we continue to make strides toward our goals.

Today, if you feel like stopping, be encouraged, progress might be slow, barely noticeable, but just remember, you are still moving forward, still making a difference.

Prayer and Reflection for the Week:

Reading:
"Come to me, all who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn from me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light." Matthew 11:28-30

Reflection:
When exhaustion takes over and your soul feels heavy, remember this invitation from Jesus, offered to each one of us: “Come to Me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.”

This reminds us that we don’t need to carry life’s stresses alone. Jesus promises not
just the relief of external rest; but rather that deep inner est and peace of the soul.
All he asks is that we come to him with a simplicity of faith and trust; that we come, just as we are, and let Him share your load.

As you walk with Him and learn from His gentle heart, you’ll discover that even in seasons of exhaustion, your burdens grow lighter and your spirit finds peace.

Prayer:
Dear Jesus, I am so tired and stressed right now; help me to bring to you, and to leave with you, my burdens, and to both find and know true rest in you. Teach me to walk with You and trust You with all that weighs me down. Let Your gentle love renew my heart today. Amen.

Further Reflection:
I encourage you to find some space each day this week to just stop, sit, relax and rest. And as you do to become aware of God's presence with you.
