Massimo, our Missio Parish Coordinator asks us to return our Red Missio boxes to the church asap - see the information point in the narthex. He is pictured here with Fr John Promise whom he recently met and is responsible for Missio in Portsmouth.
Massimo says says "On 18 October, we’ll celebrate the 100th anniversary of World Mission Sunday with Pope Leo XIV’s chosen theme: ‘One in Christ, united in mission.’ He reminds us that we are not isolated believers scattered across the world –- we are one global family, members of Christ’s body, united by baptism, sustained by prayer and bound together by compassion.
On every continent, our sisters and brothers lift us up in prayer and we lift them up in turn. Our prayers, our compassion, our generosity flow across all borders, creating invisible threads that bind us as one. Through our Mission Rosary, we celebrate this beautiful truth: we need each other because we are one family in Christ.
Being one in Christ lies at the heart of mission… A communion that flows from the Trinity, and continues to be sustained by the Trinity. A communion at the service of fraternity among all human beings and harmony with all creation.’ – Pope Leo XIV, World Mission Day 2026 Message"
