Tackling Anxiety Together (ACT885)

In this event we helps people to move away from fear and worry to hope and wellbeing.

On the day we will be hearing stories, strategies and tips based on neuroscience and biblical wisdom to empower us against the grip of anxiety and improve confidence.

We are not health care professionals but we are people who have also struggled with anxiety and we want to share the things we have found helpful and offer encouragement.

Our inspiration is from:

2 Corinthians 1:3-4

The God of all comfort , who comforts us in all our troubles, so that we can comfort those in any trouble with the comfort we ourselves receive from God.

Writers create using words – but what are words?

Like Christ, the word, they can’t be weighed or analysed scientifically, yet have all kinds of uses and effects. Potentially long-lasting and far reaching, written words can be especially powerful for good or ill.

We’ll try to sharpen up our use of words and enjoy playing and experimenting with them, as well as worshipping the Word at Ashburnham.

No previous experience of writing necessary, only a willingness to write and learn together.

Our final Dine at the Orangery of 2026 – just four places left!

If you’ve been hoping to join us for one of our Dine at the Orangery evenings, this is your chance.

On Thursday 12th November, we’ll be opening the doors of the Orangery after hours for one last evening of fine dining this year. Expect a carefully crafted menu celebrating local ingredients and suppliers, fine w**es, and live music throughout the evening.

From 7pm until late, it’s an opportunity to slow down, enjoy exceptional food and good company, and experience the Orangery in a rather different light.

And the evening doesn’t end when you leave. You’ll head home with a full tummy and a few goodies from our Bakehouse and kitchen, so you can enjoy a little more of the experience long after the last course has been served.

£75 per person, with drinks available to purchase on the evening.

A little look back at our last Farmers & Makers Market two weeks ago🍂

What a lovely day it was, with such a wonderful atmosphere, live music from Henry and friends, and an autumnal craft workshop using foraged treasures from our very own Ashburnham Place gardens.

And now, we’re looking ahead to our November market on Saturday 7th November, when we’ll be getting cosy and welcoming in the winter season.

🔥 Gather around the fire pit as the wonderful Ed Boxall shares his stories, toast marshmallows from Happy Mallows, warm your hands with a glass of mulled w**e, and tuck into hearty hot stews made with vegetables from our very own garden, served up in the barn.

With 40+ stalls filled with lovely local produce, handmade goods and seasonal treats, there’ll be plenty to browse, eat and enjoy.

Time Out – an opportunity to relax, refresh & renew. This event will be hosted by Eve & Steve Wood & others from the Ashburnham Place family.

Relax, Refresh, Renew. During the Advent season take the opportunity to wrap up for a walk or curl up in front of the fire; take time out to be with God. Enjoy the restful environment, good food and fellowship in the company of old and new friends. There will be morning & evening devotional times where we anticipate the birth of our Saviour Jesus. All part of a varied range of optional activities which includes opportunities to join in a guided prayer walk, and individual prayer. Not forgetting a special Festive Dinner on Thursday evening!

Our aim is to provide a safe place where our guests can take time out to explore bereavement, and find ways to cope and move forward.

The Bereavement Journey

November 17th 2026 12.00 noon- November 20th 14.00pm

Held and hosted by members of our Ashburnham Christian Trust team.

Films and discussion groups make up this excellent course, provided by Holy Trinity Brompton Church in London, and facilitated by our ACT team.

Grief is hard. Death can impact all of life. Our aim is to provide a safe place where our guests can take time out to explore bereavement. Loss is a natural part of life and it’s necessary for us process our thoughts and emotions for our well being, and find ways to cope and move forward. This course, made up of 7 sessions, the last of which focuses on faith in grief, promotes support in your journey, helping to prevent mental ill-health and encouraging good health and healing. We will work through the videos and discussion sessions in an informal and relaxed way , providing you with a manual to help you record your thoughts. There will be space to experience the beauty and peace of Ashburnham Place where you will be well looked after, and have the opportunity to take part in some creative activities extra to the course, which sensitively encourage personal reflection and remembrance. Prayer ministry will also be available.

Our Apple Harvest

This year’s apple harvest was a challenging one. The heat caused many of the trees to drop their fruit early in order to conserve energy, so we harvested just 460 litres—less than half of last year’s amount.

Our juice is made from 18 different heritage English apple varieties. Although the harvest was smaller, the juice tastes wonderfully sweet and delicious. Because we have limited quantities, we’ll be selling it by the glass and in bottles while stocks last.

Most of all, we enjoyed coming together to pick what the trees had produced. It’s always a joyful experience—and even more special knowing that the apples will become the delicious juice we all enjoy so much.

Less than two months to go until our Christmas Wreath Workshops at Ashburnham Place!

Our much-loved wreath-making workshops are returning, and now is the perfect time to gather your friends, family or colleagues and book a festive get-together. Spaces are filling up quickly, so we recommend booking early to avoid disappointment.

Led by Lucy Cogley, who brings over 20 years of experience as a set designer and prop maker, these workshops invite you to create a beautiful, fully sustainable Christmas wreath using the traditional hay-ring method and foraged foliage from the gardens of Ashburnham place.

Enjoy a relaxed, festive atmosphere with mulled w**e, mince pies and plenty of seasonal inspiration as you create a wreath to take pride of place on your door this Christmas.

Whether you’re planning a festive catch-up with friends, or a creative evening with colleagues, it’s a lovely way to spend time together and get into the Christmas spirit.

What a day.

Our October Community Day on Monday was a little more like summer than autumn, with unusually warm sunshine making it the perfect opportunity to get out on the lake for some canoeing and wild swimming!

There was something for everyone throughout the day — Pilates, paper workshops, pizza making, foraging, bird watching, circus skills, wild swimming and, a football match and of course a good old Ceilidh! We also had plenty of birthdays to celebrate over our barbecue lunch, before rounding off the day with a pizza, pampering and the new episode of Chosen!

It really was the perfect day — time to have fun, try something new, get outside and, most importantly, spend time together.

Community Day is a chance to celebrate one another and the incredible amount of hard work that goes into serving at Ashburnham Place throughout the year. We’re very grateful for the people who make this place what it is.

Here’s to our brilliant community, and to many more days like this one.
