Such beautiful light this morning! We celebrated the birthday of the Blessed Virgin Mary at our service today, and gave thanks that she said "Yes" to God.

"Following on from our patronal service yesterday
morning many of us joined together in the village hall in the afternoon. We continued to celebrate St Laurence’s Day with a delicious afternoon tea organised by Sandra and her team. We all ate our way through assorted sandwiches, scones , cakes, meringues and trifle whilst trying to answer questions on a general knowledge quiz Sandra had prepared for us.

What a fantastic and enjoyable way to spend an afternoon whilst raising funds for the upkeep of the Church. A total of £378 was raised."
There are some photographs, too, but I will be unable to post them till later in the week as I don't have the necessary technology at the moment, I am sorry.

What a lovely Patronal Festival service we had this morning. St Laurence was a splendid man, and we thank God for his example. We were so pleased to welcome some of our friends from St George's Crowhurst, and after the service enjoyed refreshments and a delicious and splendid cake - thank you Rachel!
