The Better World Fund is privileged to announce that the 2026 Venice Assembly of Honour operates in direct association with The Hope Giver Campaign, founded by international athlete and humanitarian Anwar Elkamony. Established following Elkamony's historic recovery from a life-saving bone marrow transplant, the campaign spans humanitarian initiatives across 22 countries, delivering essential resources, psychological encouragement, and sports empowerment to patients battling cancer, individuals with physical disabilities, and vulnerable youth.

It is with profound honour that the Better World Fund reflects on the morning of May 18, 2026, at Copal Beach, Cannes — a morning of deliberate dialogue that set the tone for all that followed.

Guila Clara Kessous, UNESCO Artist for Peace and initiator of the Femina Pax UN Resolution, led an assembly of ministers, diplomats, and institutional leaders in an examination of what it would take to move women from the margins of international diplomacy to its centre. The data that informed that conversation is both clear and urgent: women represent less than 10% of negotiators in peace processes worldwide, yet their participation increases the durability of agreements by over 35%. The session closed with a symbolic act of support for the Femina Pax resolution at the United Nations.

Held under the High Patronage of the Embassy of the Arab Republic of Egypt in France, with the gracious support of H.E. Tarek Dahroug, Ambassador of Egypt to France, and his spouse Alia El-Sirafi, this special evening celebrated Egypt’s extraordinary cultural heritage and global influence. The event was presented in association with The Hope Giver Campaign by Anwar Elkamony, reinforcing our shared commitment to meaningful humanitarian action.
