*"I tell you most solemnly, anything you ask for from the Father he will grant in my name. Until now you have not asked for anything in my name.* " With the above words of Jesus to his disciples before his death, it teaches us that prayers are not just empty words. When we pray as Christians, it is a testimony of our trust that there is a God who cares for us, a Father whom we can cry to in difficult and challenging times. His son, Jesus, has assured us that anything we ask from his Father in his name will be granted. His words never fail. Lord Jesus, increase my faith, help me never to doubt when I pray.
John 16:23-28.

" *As he said this, he was lifted up while they looked on, and a cloud took him from their sight* ." Jesus ascended to heaven,to his Father to teach us that he has prepared a home for us. We shall be with him when we do our work here on earth well, and we are done. Just as He finished what his Father brought him to earth to do, we all have tasks here on earth. Have you ever asked yourself what my mission is on earth? Lord Jesus, grant me the grace to be united with you after my work is done on earth.

" *I, the light, have come into the world, so that whoever believes in me need not stay in the dark anymore* ." As soon as we believe in Jesus and accept him, we become children of the light. Darkness has no place in us. Darkness has no authority over us. Rather, we should produce fruits of the light and live as children of the light. There is no room for deception or hypocrisy. Lord Jesus, grant me the grace to bear fruits of the light.

" *There he could see for himself that God had given grace, and this pleased him, and he urged them all to remain faithful to the Lord with heartfelt devotion* ." God gives grace all the time. Whether we put it to good use is the question. His grace is sufficient for us, in all situations and at all times. The grace of God worked in the early Church, and it still does today. Have you put the grace of God in your life to good use? Lord Jesus, may we put the grace you give us each day to good use.

" *Saul went from house to house arresting both men and women and sending them to prison. Those who had escaped went from place to place preaching the Good News* ." Even when they were persecuted and imprisoned, they did not stop preaching the resurrected Jesus. Through the power of the resurrection, the Apostles knew that evil would not have the last word. They also knew that their suffering will be turned around and crowned with victory. Do you give up easily? Then, learn from the Apostles. Lord Jesus, may your resurrection always keep me joyful and hopeful.
Acts 8:1-8.
