As part of its ongoing commitment to regional development and social integration, the Adventist Development and Relief Agency (ADRA) in Romania has officially completed the disbursement of the two tranches of de minimis aid under the European Union-funded project "Step by step in social entrepreneurship" (SMIS Code: 312268). This financial milestone injects a total of 1,860,000 euros directly into newly established social economy structures, providing the capital necessary to operationalize approved business plans across rural communities in southeastern Romania.

Nestled within the Casentinese Forests, the tranquil atmosphere of the Casuccia Visani center in Poppi (Arezzo) was temporarily transformed by the arrival of over 60 motorcycles for a dedicated weekend event.

From May 29 to June 1, the venue hosted the first national rally of Adventist Motorcycle Ministry (AMM) Italy, centered around the theme "Journey as Destination."

A Shared Mission on the Road

AMM is an independent ministry of the Seventh-day Adventist Church with a global presence. The ministry integrates a passion for motorcycling and traveling with the Christian mission to share the Gospel globally. Members are identified internationally by a distinct uniform: a black vest adorned with official ministry patches.

The social projects of ADRA Bulgaria have become a training ground for future specialists in international development. For one week, our humanitarian agency hosted an external training for 17 students from the Social Sciences master's programme (specialization in "Development Projects Management"), who arrived from 13 different countries, together with two of their lecturers.

The main goal of the intensive course was for young people to get to know the real impact, sustainability, and successful cooperation of the implementation of humanitarian initiatives. The event was hosted at ADRA’s renovated medical and social center in the city of Pazardzhik, which provided an excellent base for the lectures, security, and networking for the participants.

More than four months after a devastating landslide disrupted the community of Niscemi, Sicily, recovery remains a distant reality for many displaced families. While some residents have returned home, dozens of households continue to await definitive structural evaluations or permanent housing solutions. Throughout this prolonged transition, volunteers from the Adventist Development and Relief Agency (ADRA) have maintained a consistent on-the-ground presence, transitioning from immediate crisis response to long-term community rehabilitation.

The ongoing situation recently drew national media attention, with RAI’s Tg1 broadcasting a dedicated report titled "Four Months After the Landslide in Niscemi, Journey Through a Town on Hold." The segment highlighted both the remaining infrastructural challenges and the sustained efforts of humanitarian organizations operating in the zone.

From May 1 to 3, the Youth Ministries Department hosted the Fête des Aventuriers, Bourgeons et Explos (FABE), a weekend event dedicated to the personal development and spiritual growth of children and adolescents.

Over the past three years, this gathering has drawn an average of more than 200 young participants per event, accompanied by approximately one hundred leaders and parents. With so many representing nearly every church in French-speaking Switzerland, as well as the region of Ticino, this year's event sustained this high level of attendance.

In an educational context where quality standards are becoming increasingly demanding, and external evaluations require a high level of academic and administrative responsibility, Adventus University in Cernica has received a new confirmation of the stability and seriousness of its theological education programs. The Council of the Romanian Agency for Quality Assurance in Higher Education (ARACIS), through Decision no. 153/H/07.05.2026, decided to maintain the accreditation of the undergraduate study program, Adventist Pastoral Theology, within the Faculty of Theology and Social Sciences. The program will continue to operate as a full-time study program, with an annual enrollment capacity of 30 students and a curriculum totaling 240 academic credits.
