Free Info Evening May 26, via Zoom, at Providence Renewal Centre

For more than 500 years, the Spiritual Exercises of St. Ignatius of Loyola have been guiding Christians into deeper relationship with God as they pray through the life, death, and resurrection of Jesus. Retreat in the Real World is an ecumenical journey within supportive community, facilitated by Lutheran Deacon Dr. Faith Nostbakken, from September to May.

Participants spend an hour daily in personal prayer, keep a journal of their prayer experiences, explore their prayer journey with a spiritual director every two weeks, and gather monthly for small group learning and sharing via Zoom, one Tuesday a month from 6:30-9:00 pm.

Renovations to Martin Luther House (10941 88 Avenue NW) are underway!

We are fully rebuilding the kitchen, adding a butler’s pantry, prepping for bathroom work, refinishing the hardwood floors on the main floor and we need your help!

If you’re an expert IKEA furniture assembler (or if you can identify an Allen key nine times out of ten) come join us on May 31! (This could be your ELCIC Day of Action activity!) We will be breaking open the IKEA flat packs at 1:00 p.m. and building cupboards and drawers at Martin Luther House (10941 88 Ave NW) throughout the afternoon.

Once it’s all put together, we hope you’ll stay for the special LCM-E Alumni and Friends evening worship (5:00 p.m. at St George’s Anglican Church, 11733 87 Ave NW) followed by a simple supper!

Please let Pastor Elly know if you can make it on May 31 between 1:00 p.m. and 4:30 p.m. by emailing her at [email protected]. She would also love to hear from you if you’re interested in other volunteer options during the weeks; there are lots of ways to pitch in!

Conversations Across the Church - Join and Listen to Our Global Mission Partners on May 24

Join us for our next Conversations Across the Church online gathering this week on Sunday, May 24!

Our time together will include a brief time of worship, grounding us in prayer and community as we listen, learn and reflect together with ELCIC National Bishop Larry Kochendorfer.
