This Sunday, we’re taking a look at the life of David as The Shepherd King. Before he ever wore a crown, David lived in the hidden places—overlooked, underestimated, and stuck tending sheep while everyone else seemed to be doing the important things. But what looked like limitation was actually preparation. Have you ever felt forgotten, stuck in an ordinary season, or questioned whether God could really use your life? Join us Sunday as we take a look at how God sees kings before anyone else sees the crown.

There are some realities in life that catch us off guard. We plan for the future, work hard to build healthy families, pursue purpose, and try to move forward faithfully, yet even in seasons where we are walking with God, we still encounter opposition. Temptation comes unexpectedly. Discouragement settles in. Fear whispers. Division finds its way into relationships. Doubt challenges conviction. Scripture never teaches us to be surprised by these moments. In fact, one of the clearest truths of the Christian life is this: if we are walking with Christ, we are also walking through a battlefield. We have a spiritual enemy who works to deceive, discourage, divide, and distract. The presence of spiritual conflict is not evidence that God has abandoned us, it is part of living faithfully in a broken world.

The encouraging news is that God never calls His people into a battle without giving them what they need to stand. The armour of God is not a survival kit for an uncertain outcome; it is provision from a victory Christ has already secured. Every piece of armour reveals something about how our enemy works and how God strengthens His people to prevail. But armour hanging in a locker does not protect a soldier on the battlefield. It must be put on daily. This Sunday, May 24, as we open Ephesians 6:10–18, we are going to discover what it means to get “Geared Up” not living fearful of spiritual opposition, not blindsided by life’s battles, but clothed in God’s strength and equipped to stand firm.

Many people today are exhausted internally. They carry anxiety about the future, pressure from life, disappointment in relationships, and a constant sense of unrest. In response, our culture tells us to “protect your peace,” “find balance,” or “change your mindset.” But the scriptures offer something deeper.

Scripture does not present peace primarily as a mindset to achieve, but as a Person to receive. The Gospel is not the story of God giving humanity advice from a distance. It is the story of God entering human history through Jesus Christ so we would not have to navigate a broken world alone. Jesus did not simply come to make life easier. He came to become our peace.

That means biblical peace is not dependent upon perfect circumstances, predictable outcomes, or the absence of struggle. It is rooted in the presence of Christ. If Jesus remains, then peace remains available. And that changes everything! Because circumstances may pressure us, fear may distract us, and pain may test us, but the peace of God is not something life can simply steal from us. More often, it is something we slowly relinquish when we disconnect from the One who is Himself our peace.

Plan to join us Sunday, May 17 @ 10:30AM as we unpack and discover that peace is not found in escaping difficulty, but in remaining close to Jesus in the middle of it. Peace is not merely a mindset - peace is a person!

Life can change in a moment. A stressful conversation. An unexpected conflict. A frustrating post online. A difficult situation at work or at home. In those moments, do we react out of emotion or respond with wisdom and purpose?

This Sunday we are exploring the difference between reacting and responding through the words of Jesus in The Gospel of Matthew 5:38–47. Together we’ll discover how Christ calls us to live with grace, restraint, and wisdom in a world that constantly pushes us toward anger, retaliation, and impulse.

Join us Sunday, May 10 at 10:30am for a practical and encouraging message that speaks directly into relationships, family life, workplace stress, conflict, and the everyday pressures we all face. In addition, we will take special time to honour and acknowledge the mothers of Knox Church! We hope to see you tomorrow!

Did you know that Pastor Jason creates note pages for 99.9% of his sermons, available to you on Sunday mornings when you arrive? Note taking and visual reminders offer immense benefits for growth and for deepening our understanding of our wondrous Savior and Lord.

At certain moments, we see your phones raised to capture what’s displayed on the big screen. We all know which methods of remembering work best for us as individuals. During this part of the sermon, many phones were in that position, so we thought it would be helpful to share this with you here.

Have an amazing week, family. Be the hands and feet of Jesus.

What happens when the call to extend forgiveness becomes yet another burden to carry or source of anxiety rather than freedom? You’ve already endured the pain of betrayal, and now a well-meaning Christian friend leans in, urging you to forgive and be reconciled, promising that you’ll feel so much better once you do. Yet instead of relief, all you feel is pressure.

It’s situations like these that can make freedom, forgiveness, and reconciliation feel distant, elusive or reduced to something shallow and performative. The truth is, biblical forgiveness and reconciliation cannot be reduced to a single step or a quick emotional turnaround. Forgiveness and reconciliation is a multidimensional process that needs to be completed in order for a relationship to be restored.

This Sunday, we’ll take a deeper look at what true biblical forgiveness really is, what it is not, and why it matters so profoundly for your life and relationships. Join us as we explore one of the most essential and freeing truths of the Christian faith—one that has the power to restore hearts, rebuild trust, and strengthen the relationships that matter most.
