Here’s today’s Devotional: Casting Your Cares Upon the Lord

Scripture Reference: 1 Peter 5:7 (NIV)
"Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you."

As we gather today in fasting and prayer, let us focus our hearts and minds on the incredible promise found in 1 Peter 5:7. In our times of struggle, anxiety, and uncertainty, the Lord invites us to cast our cares upon Him. This act of surrender is an expression of our faith and trust in His perfect love and sovereignty.

Reflection:
In the chaos of life, it can be easy to bear our burdens alone. Yet, God desires to carry our worries and fears. When we bring our concerns before Him, we gain clarity, peace, and strength to face any challenge. Let us remember that we do not have to shoulder our burdens alone. Jesus Himself said in Matthew 11:28-30 (NIV):
"Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls."

Prayer Focus:
As we pray today, take a moment to reflect on the specific cares that weigh heavily on your heart. Present these to God, knowing that He not only hears but also cares deeply for you. In Philippians 4:6-7 (NIV), we’re reminded:
"Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus."

Encouragement from the Word:
- Psalm 55:22 (NIV): "Cast your cares on the Lord and he will sustain you; he will never let the righteous be shaken."
- Isaiah 41:10 (NIV): "So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand."

Let us use this time of fasting to be intentional about casting our concerns onto the Lord. With every prayer, let us be reminded of His faithfulness, His power, and His willingness to take our burdens and replace them with His peace. As we seek Him today, we trust that He is at work in our lives, bringing hope, healing, and renewal.

Closing Prayer:
Heavenly Father, thank You for the assurance that we can cast our cares upon You. In this time of fasting and prayer, help us to release our burdens and embrace Your peace. May we encourage one another in faith and grow deeper in our relationship with You. In Jesus' name, we pray, Amen.

Here’s today’s Devotional:

As we embark on a day of fasting and prayer, let us take a moment to reflect on our purpose here on earth. In the busyness of life, it is all too easy to lose sight of why God has placed us here.

1. Remember Our Purpose
It is vital to remember that we are here to glorify God and fulfill His plan for our lives. Ephesians 2:10 (NIV) reminds us, "For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do."

2. Seek His Guidance
Today, I encourage you to ask the Holy Spirit to realign your heart and mind with God’s will. Proverbs 3:5-6 (NIV) says, "Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight."

3. Stay Focused on His Plans
Let’s not allow the distractions of this world to consume us. Instead, let us be vessels for the Holy Spirit, working within us to fulfill His purposes. Romans 12:2 (NIV) urges us, "Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind."

4. Embrace Eternal Impact
Remember, what we do for God is what lasts. 1 Corinthians 15:58 (NIV) encourages us: "Therefore, my dear brothers and sisters, stand firm. Let nothing move you. Always give yourselves fully to the work of the Lord, because you know that your labor in the Lord is not in vain."

May today be a time of renewal and recommitment to following His ways. As we fast and pray, let us embrace the work He is doing in and through us, trusting that His plans for us are good.

Good morning Dreamers,

I hope this message finds you well. As we look forward to the coming months, please take note of a few important updates:

- Wednesday Prayer Meetings: These will be paused for the month of August.

- September Fast: We will dedicate the entire month of September to fasting. Join us for prayer sessions on Google Meet at 8 PM, Monday through Friday.

- Water Baptism: Our fasting period will end with water baptism ceremony. If you or someone you know is considering baptism, please reach out to me as soon as possible so we can make the necessary arrangements.

Always remember, only what you do for God will last.
