At first glance, it looks like a tragedy. You've seen the video, a beaten savior, a blood stained cross, a silent sky. But I need you to hear this today, Good Friday is not the day that Jesus Christ lost. It's the day that hell lost grip on humanity. Friends, what looked like defeat was actually an incredibly awesome divine setup with eternal purpose. It looked like the end, but in fact, it was the beginning of freedom.

What's gonna matter is if your name is written in the lamb's book of life? If you have surrendered your life to Jesus Christ. And the cross demands that kind of a response. Far too many of us simply admire the cross. We we love to wear it on our necks. We love to have it placed on our bodies somewhere. We love to have pictures of the cross. We are addicted to having things that we just look at.

Hi once again SouthPort Family!

We received notice from Hydro One that our property, as well as many other businesses and homes in Saugeen Shores, will not have electricity on Sunday morning between the hours of 7:00am-12:00 p.m. This is the result of Hydro One’s need to replace an electrical piece of equipment in our region. As a result of this, we are not able to hold a church service on Sunday morning as planned.

To accommodate this change, we will instead hold our regular service on Sunday evening (TOMORROW at 6:30 p.m., on Sunday, May 31st, 2026. We encourage all of you to please place a priority on attending this service on Sunday evening as we believe that God has something special in store for us. Additionally, we will have an ice cream social following the service.

We understand that this change can cause some inconveniences to each of you, our volunteers, and those that are serving on Sunday. We thank you in advance for your understanding and patience as we work together.

Looking forward to seeing each of you on Sunday EVENING at 6:30 p.m. for church.

Recap to be clear:

No service on Sunday morning, May 31st 10:30am due to scheduled power outage. (the church will NOT BE OPEN on Sunday morning)

We will HAVE our service on Sunday EVENING, May 31st 6:30pm

The service on Sunday evening (tomorrow will be a REGULAR service, NOT The Chosen Series.

If you are scheduled to serve or volunteers this week, please plan on serving on Sunday evening as originally planned.

This does NOT affect any ministry or planned events on Friday or Saturday.

You can gain everything in this world. You can gain it all. You can gain everything this world offers and still lose what matters the most. A life without surrender, it might look full, but it's spiritually empty. And that's a dangerous place to be. There's a phenomenon going around. There's this sense in our culture today, and there's this thing. And we're gonna call it casual Christianity. And I wanna talk with you this morning about the dangers of it, because we must be honest.

05/22/2026

But friends, when Jesus changes our lives, their lives must show his lordship Because so many people, they've had a moment with Jesus, but not a surrender. They've had an encounter with Jesus, but no transformation. Let me say this as clearly as I can this morning, Jesus did not come to be your occasional comfort. He came to be your Lord and Savior. He came to sit on the throne of your life. And, when Jesus is king, your life will change.

05/21/2026

But how do we know that we're truly following Jesus? How do we know? Our lives will show it. Our lives will show it not perfection, but direction. Growth, change, obedience. Two Corinthians five seventeen says, therefore if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old has passed away and see the new has come. The new has come.

05/20/2026

Following Jesus is not proven by what you say, it's actually proven and revealed by how you live. And that's why friends, the cost of serving Jesus Christ is real. Jesus said in Luke nine twenty four, whoever wants to save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life because of me will save it. That is a powerful statement. Following Jesus is costly, but not following him friends, costs a whole lot more.

05/19/2026

Death to sin, death to pride, death to comfort, death to control. Again, the cross was never meant to be admired. It was meant to be carried. The cross will cost you your comfort, but I believe it will give you your purpose. What you refuse to lay down, my friends, will eventually be the thing that holds you back. Let me say this plainly. If faith costs you nothing, then ultimately it will produce nothing.
