Important Church Update for Forward Kitchener:
Earlier this week, we discovered that the hydro company replaced a transformer outside our church building. Unfortunately, the transformer was the wrong size and caused a series of problems throughout the plaza.
Last week, we talked about how God is our provider and this week we experienced that reality as a church family. We are grateful that we experienced mostly minor damage that we were able to repair throughout this week. We are also grateful that all repair expenses will be covered.
Praise God, we can still gather for our worship service on Sunday.
However, a few things will be different this week.
There is no internet, which means we will be unable to stream the service. If you were planning to watch online, I hope you will join us in person this week.
The Accessibility washroom in the main foyer will be out of service. The door equipment was damaged, and we haven't been able to fix it yet.
There is no HVAC in the main foyer/classrooms area. The unit was damaged, and we are waiting for a final report so we can plan repairs. We have space heaters for the classrooms, but if your child is in this area, you may want them to dress appropriately for Sunday morning.
The classrooms with windows have no lights. We have had to do some significant electrical work this week to restore lights in the Nursery and other areas. Those classrooms will rely on natural light from the windows this Sunday.
There will be a different process for Check Ins for Kids Ministry on Sunday. Our printers were impacted by the power surge and no longer work. This week, we'll use a manual process to check in children.
I'm very grateful to the team members who have put so much effort into getting things as ready as possible for this week.
I hope you will join me this Sunday. I'll be with you as we open up God's Word and talk about how to respond to difficult people as a disciple of Jesus. I would also be happy to answer any other questions you may have about this week's events.
