The Living Room is a small group of Christians with a simple idea: create a Christ centred community, where relationships matter, questions of faith can be asked, God is sought in the everyday and ALL people are invited to be a part of this journey. We are a community of people in whom Christ is evident. We are united by common purposes and values, based on the teachings and principles by which Je
sus lived. We recognize the life giving impact of following Christ, as we strive to make Him known to all people.
2) Relationship. We are a community where relationships matter and are the key to our success. We desire everyone to experience genuine love and care in the relationships and people they encounter in our midst. We strive to have relationships with one another that are built on honesty, trust and support.
3) Exploration. As a community, we celebrate the journey of faith. Although we are a place of non-judgment, we challenge one another to be stronger people in our walks with God and through life. We uphold biblical principles in our daily lives. We encourage each other to challenge our own preconceptions and value knowing why we believe what we believe. We prefer to explore the questions of faith rather than provide packaged answers; ultimately knowing that each individual is responsible to account to God.
4) Everyday. We are a community where God is sought in our ‘everydayness’. We are open about our walk with God and honest about what it means to be a follower of Jesus in our daily lives. We encourage people to confront their struggles and seek out accountability in their relationships with each other. We pursue awareness of God’s presence and celebrate the miracle of our everyday encounters with Him. This stimulates faith and confidence that we are in the Creator’s hand. Every day we acknowledge that we are loved... perfectly.
5) Engage. We are a community that engages in the world and social issues around us. We desire to see each individual treated with fairness and compassion, regardless of who they are and the life they live. We seek to end marginalization in our faith community by upholding the moral, social and spiritual equality of all believers regardless of race, colour, gender, gender identity and sexual orientation. We believe there is a place of love and respect for everyone inside God’s community, as we do justice, love mercy and walk humbly before our God.
