On March 13, the Islamic Restoration Society (IRES) had the honor of hosting a distinguished Justice System Iftar Dinner at the Dalhousie Community Association, generously supported by the Calgary Foundation.

The evening brought together a remarkable group of honorable guests, including respected officials and representatives from across the justice system, united around a shared table to break the fast. Among our distinguished guests were Amtul Siddiqui, Chair of the Calgary Police Commission; Asif Rashid, Deputy Chief of Calgary Police Services; Nader Khalil, Corporal at RCMP National Security; Jeremy Butterworth, Acting Warden of Correctional Service Canada Drumheller Institution; Andrew Leaman, Deputy Warden of Correctional Service Canada Bowden Institution; and Brent Boardman, Deputy Director of Calgary Correctional Centre.

Their insightful and inspiring speeches enlightened us and added great meaning and depth to the evening, making the gathering even more memorable.

Our guests enjoyed a thoughtfully prepared and diverse menu by Jarusselam Shawarma, while the elegant organization and décor by The Ours Co. created a warm and welcoming atmosphere that reflected the spirit of the night.

Behind the scenes, a dedicated and passionate team of volunteers worked tirelessly to ensure every detail was in place. Their commitment and sincerity transformed the evening into a truly exceptional experience.

We extend our heartfelt gratitude to all our IRES volunteers and everyone who contributed to and attended this meaningful gathering. We are truly grateful to have such a strong and caring community—together, we are a growing family that continues to strengthen and expand with each passing day.
