“You cannot walk closely with God and comfortably with sin.”

One of the enemy’s cruelest works is to keep a believer divided, looking free before people while still protecting something in secret. Lust, bitterness, addiction, deceit, pride, impurity or any sin we have learned to excuse cannot stay hidden behind a Christian appearance forever. Scripture says, “If we say that we have fellowship with Him, and walk in darkness, we lie and do not practice the truth” 1 John 1:6. God brings what is hidden into the light so it can be confessed and forsaken. He does not ask us to pretend the chains are gone, He calls us to stop making peace with what Christ died to destroy.

The believer fights sin from what Christ has already done at the cross. “Our old man was crucified with Him, that the body of sin might be done away with, that we should no longer be slaves of sin” Romans 6:6. Grace gives no shelter to secret bo***ge. Sometimes the fight means confessing what has been hidden, asking for help, fleeing temptation, cutting off what keeps feeding the sin and returning again to prayer and the Word. There are things we cannot keep near us and still expect to remain free.

Do not accept secret bo***ge as though it must always be part of your Christian life. Bring it before God and call it what He calls it. Walk in the light and keep fighting because “sin shall not have dominion over you” Romans 6:14. When you stumble, do not run farther into hiding. Come back into the light. The blood of Jesus cleanses, the Spirit gives strength to obey and grace teaches us to leave compromise behind and walk with God in holiness.

Sin promises secrecy but always leaves evidence.

Sin often asks for only one thing at the beginning: a place to remain hidden, something a person can keep away from other people while life continues as normal. But Scripture warns, “be sure your sin will find you out” Numbers 32:23. In its immediate context, Moses was warning the tribes of Reuben and Gad that failure to keep their word before the Lord would not remain without consequence. The principle is sobering. What a person does before God matters, even when nobody else knows about it.

Hidden sin does not have to become public before it begins leaving evidence. It works on the heart first. Conviction becomes easier to ignore. Prayerlessness then creeps in. A person begins protecting what once would have been confessed, and over time something changes within. This is why secrecy can be so dangerous. Someone may succeed in hiding something from people while its effect is already appearing in their walk with God.

If the Lord is putting His finger on something, bring it into His light now. Do not wait for exposure to do what conviction is already calling you to do. God’s mercy gives room to repent, confess, and turn from sin. The safest place is not where sin remains undiscovered, but where the heart remains open before God.

If eternity is real, careless Christianity is madness.

We say we believe that Christ is coming again. We believe there is a resurrection, a judgment, and an eternity before us, yet it is possible to believe all of this and still live as though this present life is everything. Scripture says, “For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ” 2 Corinthians 5:10. That should affect the way we live now: our choices, what we do with our time, the condition of our hearts, and how we obey God when nobody is watching. Eternity should never become a doctrine we agree with while our daily lives remain untouched by it.

We keep telling ourselves there is time... time to become serious later, time to obey later, time to deal with that habit later. But Scripture keeps bringing us back to today. If God is speaking, respond while your heart can still hear Him. Do not allow familiarity with Christianity to make you careless with Christ.

There is grace for us, but grace was never given so that we could sleep through our walk with God. It teaches us to deny ungodliness and to live soberly and godly while we wait for Christ. We do not know how many days we have, but we know where those days are going. If eternity is truly before us, then how we walk with God cannot remain casual.

“Then the hand of the LORD came upon Elijah; and he girded up his loins and ran ahead of Ahab to the entrance of Jezreel.” – 1 Kings 18:46

On this first day of September, may the hand of the Lord rest upon you. The same God who strengthened Elijah beyond natural ability can strengthen you for every assignment He has placed before you. May He give you holy speed, progress without pride, and movement without carelessness.

Where weariness has slowed you, may the Lord renew your strength. May you run only where He leads, arrive where He has appointed, and keep fellowship with Him all the way.

From the first day of September to the last, may the hand of the Lord remain upon you, and may you finish this month faithful to Him. Amen.

Your greatest spiritual danger may be the sin you have learned to explain.

Jeremiah 17:9- The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked: who can know it?

The heart becomes dangerous when it starts defending what God is judging. Sin does not need loud rebellion to stay; it only needs a name that makes it sound acceptable. Once a man explains it long enough, protects it long enough, and refuses conviction long enough, the conscience begins to lose its fear before God.

The life behind the voice matters. A microphone can carry sound, but it cannot give spiritual weight to an unyielded life. Crowds may gather around gifts, noise, and excitement, but gifts do not raise holy people. Truth, prayer, holiness, and obedience do.

God does not always remove the thing that presses a man. At times, He gives grace to endure it. But sin must not be endured; sin must be judged. Therefore, stop explaining what needs repentance, stop dressing sin with softer names, and return to the kind of life that carries Christ in secret before it speaks of Him in public.

The last days will expose everyone who learned church but never learned Christ.

Paul warned of people having a form of godliness while denying its power. That kind of religion still knows how to appear alive, but the life of Christ is not ruling the hidden person.

A generation that seeks power without purity becomes easy to deceive. God does not give holiness as decoration for ministry. He gives it because the vessel must be clean. When appetite is left alive in private, it weakens the person long before people see anything in public.

Revival begins where a person stops defending themselves and returns to God in repentance, dead to their reputation. The secret place must be restored because ministry cannot stay alive on memory. Christ must be learned again, not only spoken of.

Grace brings men out of sin. It does not teach them to remain there.

The danger is giving people confidence in future repentance while they continue in present sin. We should rejoice whenever someone truly turns from sin and comes back into obedience to God, but we must be careful how that testimony is told. Someone still living in the same sin may hear celebration without repentance and take comfort in it. When the lesson becomes, “at least they married eventually,” a person living in fornication may begin to think he can continue and make things right later. Marriage does not make previous fornication righteous. God is merciful to the repentant, but Scripture never gives anyone tomorrow as permission to disobey Him today. “Today, if you will hear His voice, do not harden your hearts” Hebrews 3:15.

Repentance should always be preached as something God calls for now. No one knows what continued sin will do to the heart, and no one has been promised another opportunity to repent. Paul confronted the very idea of using grace as room for continued sin: “Shall we continue in sin that grace may abound? Certainly not!” Romans 6:1–2. So when we tell stories of restoration, let the mercy of God be seen clearly, but let sin still be called sin. Celebrate the grace that brought someone out without making the road they came out of attractive to those who are still walking in it.

The Church also does not have to turn every public controversy or trending story into a teaching opportunity. Scripture has already given us enough truth to preach holiness, repentance, marriage, mercy, restoration, and obedience without becoming dependent on whatever has captured public attention. There are times to speak into what people are discussing, but relevance must remain a servant of truth. And unity is precious when it is unity in Christ and His truth. We should pursue peace and restoration with humility, while refusing to soften what God has plainly spoken simply to keep everyone comfortable.

“The name of Jesus is not a formula. It must be carried in fellowship.”

The people of God must learn to live in the constant, abiding presence of the Lord. We are not strong enough to stand in the days ahead without the manifest presence of Jesus Christ shaping our hearts, guarding our minds, and keeping us near to Him. Those who do not walk with Him become easy prey for fear, guilt, condemnation, and the schemes of the enemy. Formulas cannot replace fellowship. The sons of Sceva had religious language, but they lacked the reality of Christ within them. The evil spirit answered them, “Jesus I know, and Paul I know; but who are you?” Acts 19:15. Paul and Peter carried spiritual authority because they had been formed in communion with the Lord. When a man enters the secret place, acknowledges his weakness, and depends wholly on Christ, the mountains before him begin to melt before the presence of the Lord.

The presence of the Lord is a wall of fire around His people. It is the holy covering no darkness can overcome. Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego stood before the furnace without bowing to fear, and in the fire the king saw another walking with them. The presence of God did not merely comfort them. It preserved them so completely that even the smell of smoke was not on them. This is the kind of presence the Church must recover. A believer cannot cling to the world that mocks Christ and still carry the nearness of Christ with purity. If we want His presence, we must forsake the world, lay down pride, reject the fear of man, and return to heart-to-heart communion with Him. His promise remains sure. He will never leave us nor forsake us.

“The vessel is weak so the power may be seen as God’s.”

The greatest illusion of the Christian walk is to believe that yesterday’s encounter with God is sufficient to carry you through today’s battle. The truth is, we carry the immortal glory of God inside mortal clay, and by the very nature of our humanity, our trials, our anxieties, and the friction of living in a fallen world, we leak. Every time you extend love to the unlovable, every time you absorb the pressure of a stressful day, and every time you step out to serve, virtue goes out of you, and if you are not continually returning to the Source, you will eventually find yourself running on empty. A dry vessel cannot pour out living water. It can only rattle with noise, dragging itself through religious duties by sheer willpower and fleshly effort. This is why the Apostle Paul instructed the Church to live in the continual filling of the Holy Spirit. We are leaking vessels, and the only way to keep full is to put our pitcher under the perpetual flow. Paul says, “that the excellence of the power may be of God and not of us” 2 Corinthians 4:7.

To live as a leaking vessel means your survival depends entirely on staying under the spout where the glory pours, refusing to move from the secret place until your soul is saturated once again. We fail and fracture under temptation when we try to fight spiritual warfare with evaporated oil, forgetting that the flame on the altar of our hearts must be supplied with fresh fuel every morning. Do not let the cracks in your vessel discourage you. God chose earthen pots so that the excellence of the power would clearly be of Him and not of us. Let those cracks serve as a perpetual reminder of your absolute dependency. Step away from the noise, pull down the blinds on the demands of the world, and cast your empty, leaking heart before the throne of grace. Cry out for a fresh baptism of fire until the river of God overflows your boundaries and washes away every trace of exhaustion, pride, and spiritual drought. Yesterday’s oil cannot carry today’s battle. Return to the Source.
