"The Lord maketh poor, and maketh rich: he bringeth low, and lifteth up. He raiseth up the poor out of the dust, and lifteth up the beggar from the dunghill, to set them among princes..." β 1 Samuel 2:7-8
The Prophet began his message by teaching that God is the lifter of man. No matter the challenges, disappointments, or delays we face, we must continue to praise and trust God, for He alone has the power to change our situation.
Drawing from the story of Hannah, whose name means grace or favour, the Prophet reminded us that when the womb of favour appears closed, it does not mean that favour itself is closed. Many people make the mistake of judging God's plans by their current season. However, God is still working behind the scenes.
Hannah endured years of barrenness and was constantly mocked by her rival, Peninnah, who had children. Yet despite the ridicule, Hannah remained faithful and positioned herself before God. She went to the house of the Lord and poured out her heart in prayer. People mocking you does not mean God is mocking you.
At the right time, while Hannah was praying, the priest Eli spoke a word over her life. That moment marked the beginning of her breakthrough. God remembered Hannah, and she later gave birth to children, proving that God had lifted her from shame to honour.
The Prophet declared that whatever God starts, He finishes. God never leaves His work incomplete.
"Being confident of this very thing, that He which hath begun a good work in you will perform it until the day of Jesus Christ." β Philippians 1:6
No matter the calamities, trials, or difficulties you may be facing, continue praising God. Hannah was in the right place at the right time, and her season of lifting came.
Your current condition is not your final destination. The same God who lifted Hannah is able to lift you.
