It was love that caused God to come up with the plan of giving us His only Son. But what was the purpose of that plan? It was to reconcile us back to Himself so that we could once again be called the children of God.
God did not simply drop Jesus from heaven. Just as we are born into this world, Jesus was born like you and me. However, when you look closely at His journey, from His birth to His death and resurrection, you begin to understand the magnitude of what He came to accomplish. He was crucified, and through His crucifixion, He dealt with the sin, bo***ge, and challenges that would otherwise have separated us from God.
1 John 3:8 tells us that the Son of God was manifested to destroy the works of the devil. In other words, God's purpose was to destroy everything that was tormenting and holding His children captive.
There are many religions in the world, but what makes Christianity different is the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ. Our faith is built on the reality that Jesus died, was buried, and rose again.
When Jesus was crucified, He carried our sins and our burdens to the cross. When He was buried, everything that was associated with our old life was buried with Him. Then, when He resurrected, He rose into a newness of life and ascended to the Father, where He is seated at the right hand of God. Therefore, by faith, we must understand that we are also seated with Christ.
There is a difference between Jesus and Jesus Christ. Jesus was the man who walked the earth, but Jesus Christ is the risen and exalted Lord. It was not merely Jesus the man who went to the Father; it was Jesus Christ, the resurrected Son of God. Our union with Him is connected to what He accomplished through His death, resurrection, and ascension.
This is why Ephesians 2:6 tells us that God raised us up with Christ and seated us with Him in the heavenly realms. This means that we are united with Him. Therefore, I do not have to search for Him everywhere, because Christ lives in me. I carry His presence.
And because I carry Christ, I carry power. The enemy knows that there is something inside of you. It is not your own strength or ability; it is the power of Jesus Christ working through you. You are able to overcome and accomplish things because you have been united with Him.
John 14:20 says, βWhen I am raised to life again, you will know that I am in my Father, and you are in Me, and I am in you.β
Therefore, there is a divine union between you, Christ, and the Father. When you understand this union, you begin to understand that the power of God is working in and through you.
Mark 16:1
As Christians, there are sacred truths that we often forget. Yet, sometimes, the very things we forget are the things that have the power to help us overcome what we are facing.
Anything that you do for Christ, and any obstacle that stands before you, can be moved when you understand the power of the resurrection. We see this in the account of the women who went to the tomb of Jesus. They had a problem: there was a large stone at the entrance of the tomb. However, when they arrived, the stone had already been rolled away.
In the same way, there are stones that have stood in front of your life. There are situations that have appeared too big for you to overcome. However, the same God who rolled away the stone from the tomb is able to roll away the obstacles standing before you.
The problems you faced yesterday do not have to follow you into tomorrow. Because of Jesus Christ, there is the power of resurrection working in your life.
Luke 24:5β10 asks a powerful question: βWhy are you looking for the living among the dead?β
This question speaks directly to many believers today. There are people looking for life in places that have already died. They keep returning to things that God has already brought them out of.
When Jesus Christ resurrected, He did not only rise for Himself. His resurrection speaks of restoration, new beginnings, and the possibility of life beyond what appears to be dead. Therefore, why should you keep returning to dead things?
If your business failed last year, that does not mean you are prohibited from starting again. If something in your life died, it does not mean that it can never live again. The resurrection reminds us that God can bring life out of situations that appear to be finished.
However, Christians, you must be careful of ignorance. When situations come into your life, do not allow the situation to become your truth. Go back to the Word of God and see what He has said about you. Remember what He has promised. Remember what Christ has accomplished.
How many Christians have been told through the Word of God that there are certain things we need to do, yet we have forgotten? Remember.
How many believers say they believe in Jesus, but when Jesus says something in His Word, they refuse to believe it? This is exactly what happened when the disciples were told that Jesus Christ had resurrected. They struggled to believe the report and considered it impossible.
Sometimes Christianity will not make sense to you. You may look at the Word of God and think, βThis does not make sense.β But what does not make sense to you can make perfect sense to God.
What makes sense to God will not always make sense to you, and that is where faith comes in. Faith requires us to trust God even when we cannot fully understand what He is doing.
Therefore, remember.
Remember that what God has done before, He can do again. Remember that yesterday's victory is evidence that God is still able to give you victory tomorrow.
Sometimes, the problem you think is so great may not seem so great when you hear what someone else is going through. There are people facing challenges far greater than the ones you are facing.
Therefore, do not mock God by constantly asking, βGod, why am I going through this?β without recognizing the blessings that are already present in your life.
There are people who are dying of hunger while you have food to eat. There are people praying for opportunities that you already have. Yet sometimes, despite everything God has given us, we still go back to Him and ask, βWhy me?β
Remember.
Acts 2:22 reminds us of the power demonstrated through Jesus Christ. It was impossible for the grave to hold Him. The grave could not keep Him because death did not have the final word.
Therefore, when you follow this Man, there will come a point when the things that have held you captive will no longer be able to hold you. Just as the grave could not hold Jesus, sickness, poverty, failure, and limitations do not have to define your destiny.
John 5:25 says, βThe time is coming, and now the time is.β
This means that what you are experiencing right now is not necessarily the end of your story. Your current situation does not have the authority to determine the final chapter of your life.
Jesus went through death, but death was not the end. There was life after death. In the same way, there can be a resurrection in your life. You can rise again. You can bounce back.
Romans 8:11 says that if the Spirit of Him who raised Jesus from the dead dwells in you, He will also give life to your mortal body through His Spirit who dwells in you.
Therefore, you are carrying resurrection power. The same Spirit that raised Christ from the dead dwells in you. That means the power of God is already working within you to bring life, restoration, strength, and solutions.
2 Kings 13:21 reminds us of the extraordinary power connected to the presence of God. It demonstrates that the power associated with God's servant continued to operate even after his death. This should remind us that what God places upon a person is greater than the circumstances surrounding that person.
Furthermore, all things are possible to those who believe. Your faith matters because your belief determines how you respond to what you are facing.
Ezekiel 3:27 and Proverbs 6:2 also remind us of the power and consequences of our words. Proverbs 6:2 says that you can be trapped by the words of your own mouth.
Therefore, be careful what you agree with. Be careful what you continually speak over your life. Do not allow your circumstances to dictate your confession.
Job 22:28 says, βYou will also declare a thing, and it will be established for you; so light will shine on your ways.β
There is power in what you declare. Your words should agree with what God has said concerning you.
Finally, Proverbs 18:21 tells us that death and life are in the power of the tongue. Words can kill, and words can give life. They can become poison, or they can produce fruit.
The choice is yours.
So, remember what Christ has done. Remember His death. Remember His resurrection. Remember that you are united with Him. Remember that you carry His presence and His power.
And above all, remember that your current situation does not have the final word. Christ has already overcome, and because you are united with Him, you can rise again.
