GOD SEES INTENTIONS
Prophetic Word of The Day:
“All a person’s ways seem pure to them, but motives are weighed by the Lord.” − Proverbs 16:2 (NIV)
Revelation:
God does not only hear what we say or see what we do, He searches the heart. He sees the posture of one’s heart and their true intentions. It is easy to perform righteousness, try your best to speak the right words in prayer or even make promises to God. However, God is not moved by what we say or do alone. What moves God is the sincerity and right standing of one’s heart. This challenges us to examine not just our prayers, but the “why” behind them. Are you looking for financial breakthrough so you can prove people wrong or is it so you can advance the Kingdom of God? Are you looking for the anointing so you can be famous in the sight of men or so you can use it to point people to Christ? Your intentions determine the weight and quality of your prayer.
It is easy to promise God faithfulness when we are still waiting. We say, “Lord, when You bless me, I will serve You more. When You open that door, I will honor You.” But God, in His wisdom, already sees beyond those words. He knows whether our hearts will remain steadfast or drift once the blessing comes. He weighs our intentions even before the manifestation. A simple prayer, whispered with a genuine heart, carries more weight than many words spoken without pure intentions. When we begin to work on our intentions, something shifts in the effectiveness of our prayers. In that place, we begin to provoke divine favor, not because we have earned it, but because our hearts are aligned with His Kingdom agenda. When your intentions are right, your life becomes a vessel God can trust.
Going Deeper:
Jeremiah 17:10 | Hebrews 4:12 | Matthew 5:8
Prophetic Action:
Take time today to reflect. Ask yourself: Why do I desire what I desire? Lay your intentions before God without fear, because He already knows them. And in His grace, He is willing to purify them.
Prayer:
Heavenly Father, purify my intentions and align my desires with Your will. Remove anything within me that is not pleasing to You. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
From The Prophetic Library of Dr. Shepherd Bushiri: “In 1 Chronicles 12:18 NKJV, in addition to soldiers from King Saul’s tribe, numerous others also joined David’s army. When David expressed doubt regarding their intentions, they reassured him of their motives. They recognised the evident presence of God’s assistance and favour upon David. Operating within the realm of sure mercies makes the hand of God upon your life unmistakably visible.” – Mercy (PSB, pg. 34, 2023
