Last Sunday was Father's Day!

It's no secret that there is a crisis of manhood across our nation. What lies are you living under? That you have it all under control? That no one else will understand what you are going through? That no good will come of talking about your struggles?

But God says otherwise. "Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest," as it says in Matthew 11:28.

Crossway Upwey’s Young Adults group is a place where community feels more like family.

Crack open the Word of God with us, sing songs of praise, chat about what's going on in our lives, and of course, plenty of snacks!✝

We meet every Wednesday at 📍 21 Darling Ave, Crossway Upwey, from 7- 9 pm!

For the next couple of weeks, we will be doing the Alpha Course together to discover first-hand what it's like, and how we can talk about God and Life with our non-believing loved ones! We had a wonderful time in church yesterday, starting off with beautiful hymns of praise on the piano and acoustic guitars. Pastor Andrew gave a wonderful introduction to our series on Timothy; should we ever be in fear, we can remember what it says in 2 Timothy 1:7 - "For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind."

This weekend was one of our Encounter services, where we get extra time to meet God through worship and allow the Holy Spirit space to speak with us.

We spent extended time in worship and shared communion; each of us was handed a stone, symbolic of the baggage we all carry in life, as we walked in that morning. We pleaded with God for him to carry our filth, our shame, all our heavy baggage, just as he did for David in 2 Samuel 11-12. David committed a great sin, and yet, he was still worthy of salvation. We are not so different from David.

What's the baggage you want to put down today? What are you going to lay at the foot of the cross today?

Upwey campus would not be the Upwey campus without the amazing fellowship time that we have every Sunday after the service. For many, it is the highlight of the week!

But this would not happen without the amazing volunteers who work hard behind the scenes, setting up, preparing food, and serving others every Sunday❤️Thank you, team, for blessing us as you do!✝️
