Dear Lord and loving Father

We thank you for your grace and mercy shown through your son Jesus Christ who came not to condemn the world but to save it.

Today we take time to remember the children who were stolen from their families and suffered the loss of culture and identity

We acknowledge the grief and loss suffered by the many families who had their children stolen

Father we pray for those who were stolen and ask that you may bring hope and healing to each stolen child who are still struggling today as adults.

We pray for peace and comfort to be upon the families who are still waiting for their loved ones to return and ask that somehow Father that you may reunite these broken families.

We remember those who have passed away, never to walk on their traditional lands, feel their families embrace.

May you bring healing to the broken hearted, hope to the hopeless and love to those who have never experienced true love.

As we grieve today with those who are grieving, may you grant us all hope for the future in Christ Jesus.

We ask all these things in and through the precious name of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ.

Amen

Prayer by Rev Michael Duckett, a Dunghutti man from the Nth Coast of NSW

This ancient letter between a Roman soldier and his wife shows us a world with an entirely different idea of what it meant to be a human being.

“Hilarion to his sister (wife) Alis, many greetings, also to my lady Berous and Apollonarion. Know that I am still in Alexandria; and do not worry if they wholly set out, I am staying in Alexandria. I ask you and entreat you, take care of the child, and if I receive my pay soon, I will send it up to you. Above all, if you bear a child and it is male, let it be; if it is female, cast it out. You have told Aphrodisias, "Do not forget me." But how can I forget you? Thus I'm asking you not to worry. The 29th year of Caesar, Pauni 23. (verso) Hilarion to Alis, deliver.”

It was a world where capacity and usefulness was paramount. A baby girl was just an inconvenience for a poorer family. “Casting it (her!) out” was not uncommon.

Christianity emphasised the inherent dignity of human life for every person. It changed everything. And it’s only when you really understand the cold logic of the ancient pagan world that you can see how Christianity - building on its Jewish origins - laid the foundation for human rights as we know them today.

Happy Mother’s Day

Today, we remember the incredible mothers in our lives—our own and those who treated us as their own. On this day, persecuted mothers across the world, like Hanan* in Syria, remember other things, too. Their children for one, whom they love and fight to protect. Their little ones, who so easily could have been lost to them but for the grace of God.

Thank you for loving them and for praying for their families.❤️

The crackdown on the Church in Yemen continues. Over the weekend, three new Christian leaders were arrested and imprisoned. This is on top of the 50+ arrests at the beginning of this year.

Our partners share that living conditions in Yemeni prisons are dire with harsh treatment.

🙏 Please keep praying for the prisoners' release, for their family and friends, and for the entire Church and ministry inside this country on the Arabian Peninsula.

🙏 Pray our Lord strengthens His people in His own ways, renewing their faith and
reminding them that He is on the highest throne regardless of who’s in power on earth.

Always good to pray!

Always good to pray!

When you seek God with your whole heart, He promises to be found.

He listens when you call, meeting you in sincerity and drawing you closer to Him. 🤍

In a time of war and death, pray that Christians can reflect the light of Christ:

🙏 Pray with us for church leaders in Iran, Iraq, Lebanon, Israel, Palestine, Syria, and throughout the Middle East. Ask God to give them the words to say to frightened congregants.
🙏 Pray with Christians who are scared and struggling to live. Pray that the peace of Christ will calm their fears.
🙏 Pray for frightened children as they hear bombs. Pray they can return to school.
🙏 Pray for wisdom and courage for believers facing fear, displacement, and uncertainty in their daily lives.
🙏 Pray for healing for the nations, for an end to violence, and for lasting peace.
🙏 Pray that the light of Christ would shine through the darkness, bringing hope and transformation to Iranian communities.
