John 16/16-19

In the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit. Amen

A little while, and you will no longer see me, and again a little while, and you will see me.’
Then some of his disciples said to one another, ‘What does he mean by saying to us, "A little while, and you will no longer see me, and again a little while, and you will see me"; and "Because I am going to the Father"?’
They said, ‘What does he mean by this "a little while"? We do not know what he is talking about.’
Jesus knew that they wanted to ask him, so he said to them, ‘Are you discussing among yourselves what I meant when I said, "A little while, and you will no longer see me, and again a little while, and you will see me"?

Reflection
Jesus tells His disciples that their sorrow will soon turn into joy. Though they do not fully understand His words, He prepares them to trust in God’s plan.
In our own trials and uncertainties, we may not see what God is doing, but Christ invites us to remain faithful. The Cross is never the end; through the Resurrection, sorrow is transformed into lasting joy.

May we understand that Your love can turn every sorrow into joy.

Novena of St Anthony of Padua
Day 8

O holy St. Anthony, you have shown yourself so powerful in your intercession, so tender and so compassionate towards those who honor you and invoke you in suffering and distress. I beseech you most humbly and earnestly to take me under your protection in my present necessities and to obtain for me the favor I desire (State your intention). Recommend my request to the merciful Queen of Heaven, that she may plead my cause with you before the throne of her Divine Son.

One Our Father, one Hail Mary, and Glory Be to the Father, in honor of Saint Anthony.
