“Just go and do it!” Frank encourages to all of those who are thinking of attending an Alpha program.

Out of curiosity to learn more about faith, Frank attended Alpha back in 2023 at Holy Spirit Parish.

Growing up he attended Catholic schools and regularly attended mass. But it was only until attending an Alpha program, that his faith flourished with meaning and purpose.

“I've just found my faith has become more wholesome and deeper.”

For him it was realising the humanity and weight of Jesus’ existence, that changed his entire perspective and consequently his life. Alpha was also the place he found a community of like-minded friends who he’s really bonded with over the years.

“Some of the people that I've done the Alpha program with a few years ago, have become my best friends, and we still share meals together.”

So, what are you waiting for❓ Register your FREE attendance with us at https://forms.gle/yUzxykfgAn34HSiJ8, and have your questions answered!

Multicultural Mass– Migrant Jubilee Cross Celebration.

Our parish warmly welcomes the Migrant Jubilee Cross as it arrives in the NT. The Cross is part of a national pilgrimage led by the Australian Catholic Migrant and Refugee Office (ACMRO), honouring the faith, gifts, resilience and contributions of migrant and refugee communities across Australia. Crafted from recycled Australian timber and carried on a boat-shaped base, the Cross speaks powerfully of the journeys made by people seeking safety, belonging and a new beginning. The boat represents the Church as a pilgrim people, called to be a safe harbour of welcome, compassion and hope.

The Cross bears the Southern Cross constellation and contains relics associated with the Holy Family and Saint Mary of the Cross MacKillop. It invites us to recognise Christ in those who journey from their homelands and to celebrate the many cultures, stories and gifts that enrich our local Church.

Join us on Sunday 18th October 2026 at 9:30 am Mass . You are invited to wear your cultural costumes or national dress to represent your culture. After the mass we will gather for morning tea with delicious finger food from different cultures.

The Missionaries of God's Love priests and brothers have elected Fr David Callaghan as their new leader, Moderator, for the next four years. Originally from Perth, Fr David has been a member of the MGL for 26 years. He is currently the Parish Priest at Holy Spirit Parish in Darwin. This transition of leadership has been gratefully accepted by Fr Stephen Fletcher, who is very confident that Fr David is well equipped to take the congregation forward for the next four years.

The priests and brothers of the MGL now continue in their time together as they seek to respond to the promptings of the Holy Spirit as they live out their particular charism in the Church and the world today. Now in their 40th year, the MGL have missions in Canberra, Melbourne, Darwin and Sydney, the Philippines and Indonesia. Dedicated to preaching the Love of God expressed through the Cross of Jesus and the power of the Holy Spirit, they have a particular focus on ministry to the young, the marginalised, and to building and forming faith communities as missionary disciples.

With over 40 priests and perpetually vowed brothers and over 30 young men in formation, Fr David steps into the role of Moderator at a time of great promise for the MGL and the Church as a whole.

“A leap of faith,” Sansar shares his testimony joining Alpha two years ago at Holy Spirit Parish.

After being spontaneously invited and in search of core values to anchor himself and navigate today's world, Sansar decided to take a leap of faith and attend an Alpha course.

He brought lots of questions, and a curious mind and before long found himself attending every session.

“Come along. You might feel a bit nervous, it’s normal. But once you get past that first session, I think you’re going to come back again and again and again.”

Come along and bring a friend to one of our Alpha courses, where we unpack faith, life and meaning through conversations, over good FOOD! Starting 27 Oct, every Tuesday at 6:30pm Holy Spirit School. See you there❓
