Parish treasures, Helen and Kaye, celebrated their birthdays at St Thomas's, Cardiff this morning. They've been friends since year 5 at primary school, and went to Guides and Sunday School together in Cardiff Parish. It was beautiful to have them up the front holding hands as sisters in Christ, as we prayed for them and sang Happy Birthday (Jesus version).
Helen is a talented folk musician and our organist of yeeeeears. Kaye, a lay reader, loves many as she cares for those no longer able to get to church.

At All Saints, Boolaroo it was husband and wife Bob and Kay's turn. Kay is in full-time care now, so our being able to pray with Bob for them both is a special gift in a different way.

Happy birthday all. We thank God for you. 💕💕

PS The stained-glass window was commissioned by Helen's family back in the day. It is a rendition of St Thomas whom the church was named after.

Celebrating the Holy Spirit with fire red everywhere at St Thomas's yesterday morning. We remembered his coming and rejoiced in his power to transform lives, even ours.

This Sunday morning we'll be celebrating Pentecost at both churches. We'll remember the Holy Spirit's dramatic arrival and the church multiplying from a few to 3000 in one day. It's an amazing event!
Both services will feel traditional, yet have contemporary elements. There are toys and activities for the kids, an all age spot and even some birthhday cake to celebrate this day that the church was born.
Anyone and everyone is welcome along:
