Let no one tell you who Jesus is, except for Himself.

Go to the Gospels. Go to the heart.

See how He was born. See what He said. Stand on His word. Let them be your grounding.

Never be convinced that Jesus is harsh. How did He treat the woman at the well?

Never be convinced that He is judgemental and will never accept sinners. What did He do on the Cross?

Go to the story of Jesus. Let Him tell you who He is.

When we celebrate the most Sacred Heart of Jesus, we honour the human nature of Jesus.

Jesus was human. And He had a heart which held all of the emotions.

Sadness, happiness, joy - all of the human emotions. He experienced them.

So when we suffer, and when we pray to Him, He feels our suffering too.

When we feel joy through His grace, and when we give thanks to Him, He feels the joy too.

As we honour His human nature, the Church invites all of us to consecrate ourselves to His Most Sacred Heart.

Often we want to see God.

We want to know where He is.
We want to ask Him to reveal Himself to us.

We can get anxious in doing that.

We can try all sorts of things -
but sometimes what He asks us to do is slow down.

Slow down.
Be attentive.

Let Him reveal the way He wants to reveal Himself to you.

God is not just up there in the universe,
somewhere in the Heavens -
or beyond the Heavens.

He is right here.

God is there.

There is nowhere that we could flee from His presence. He is so close to us.

If we let that truth really sink in, how does that change our spiritual lives?
