What a blessing it was to serve at our Sunday brekky in Surfers!
We had the joy of meeting new faces and hearing the unique stories that make up this beautiful community. Some were camera shy, but the warmth and connection were unmistakable.
The big breakfast alway cooked with love!!! Just how much a hearty, gourmet breakfast are served with love and at no cost meant to so many. From those doing it tough to travellers passing through, everyone was welcomed. Many came along thanks to our incredible "park family," who continue to share their table with generosity and heart.
It’s always a privilege to serve our park family, the ones who show us what true community looks like.
We’re especially thankful for the incredible service and dedication of our amazing management team and volunteers. Huge gratitude to Andre, Vivienne, Don, Barry, Mirela, John, J, Christian, and Tracey your love, time, and servant hearts make all the difference

The real challenge isn’t just the pain itself, it’s the silence that wraps around it. It’s the quiet suffering of those who bear deep wounds but have no language to name them. People lost in confusion and despair, unseen and misunderstood. And here’s the truth we often resist to think, that person could be anyone. It could be you. It could be me. We're all just one loss, one heartbreak, one moment away from that silence.

The path to healing doesn’t begin with fixing, it begins with listening. With choosing to be present in someone’s pain, even when it’s chaotic, even when it does not make any sense. It’s about recognising someone’s struggle, even when they can’t put it into words.

Because healing doesn’t always come with solutions. Sometimes, it comes through being noticed. Through being heard. Through being held in a space where you do not need to justify your suffering to be believed.

So if you’ve ever felt unseen, unheard, or alone, know this, ‘your pain matters’. And you don’t have to face it by yourself.

Love one another!
Love the homeless!
Love the broken, wounded, the sick… no one is perfect!

We Are Heartbroken! Honouring Our Sister, Queen Latifa (Cecelia)

We are at a loss for words. As a community, we are deeply humbled to pay our respects to one of our beloved park family members, Cecelia known to many by her street name, Queen Latifa.

It was through a news, feed report last month that we tragically learned of her passing in a car accident. At first, it felt impossible to believe, it didn’t seem real that our sister, our homie, our Queen Latifa was gone.

Our hearts are heavy. Cecelia had a heart full of love and compassion, always stepping up for those in need, especially the young ones without families or support. She helped save lives on our streets. She made sure no one felt alone.

We first met Cecelia in our (safe space) tent city in Southport back in 2022, at Carey Park. From there, she became a strong person, also came through at our Sunday breakfast service (2023) and moved in Brisbane where we last saw Cecelia last year 2024, introduced through our park family member sister Jamie!

Cecelia was a proud mother grandmother, and a powerful woman of strength who stood for truth, justice, and what was right for the people. She will always be remembered as a protector, a voice, and a guiding light for many.

We extend our deepest condolences to her children, grandchildren, and her entire family. Please know that our hearts are with you, and her legacy will always live on in our community.

We honour her memory today and every day. We pray for God’s protection over our homeless community, may everyone stay safe, alert, and wrapped in love.

Rest in peace, our sister. We love you, Queen Latifa. Until we meet again. ❤️
