Adelaide Hindu Temple

Adelaide Hindu Temple Adelaide Hindu Temple is currently being built at Holden Hills &undertaken by Vedic Hindu Foundation. A peaceful mind creates a peaceful society. WHO ARE WE..

“It is the faith in our God who reminds us of who we are and helps us see with clarity who we can become”

Why are we building this temple? In our Hindu Culture we call it the ABODE of God or TEMPLE. Hindu temple (Mandir) is a symbolic house, seat and body of divinity for Hindus. It is a structure designed to bring human beings and Gods together, using symbolism to express the ideas and beliefs of

Hinduism. A temple incorporates all elements of the Hindu cosmos — presenting the good, the evil and the human, as well as the elements of the Hindu sense of cyclic time and the essence of life — symbolically presenting Dharma, K**a, Artha, Moksa, and Karma. Most importantly, it is a sacred place of positive energy where people find internal peace. WHAT WILL TEMPLE OFFER...

It is believed that a person needs a divine place where one can direct all the energies to establish a connection with the God. In happiness, in sorrow, in joy and in grief, a person seeking God would need a Divine Place offering peace and tranquillity to channel their prayers. A temple with so many devoted souls and devotees who seek God, love God, who come to pray in the temple, creates an atmosphere of divinity by harnessing the divine energy of each devotee. A combined energy evolves and results in the vibrations which we feel at the temple. This gives it an aura of spirituality. This aura facilitates the process of channelling of our prayers. Our temple will provide one such platform to the devotees. Our temple is envisaged as a symbolic house, seat and body of divinity designed to help the human beings practice the art of achieving the UNISON between the MIND and SOUL. We are the believers with faith in our heart. The “VEDIC HINDU FOUNDATION” is a body of every devotee of God who have decided to come together to build the holy seat for our God, the ‘MANDIR’ to worship the Almighty, encourage reflection, facilitate purification of one’s mind and trigger the process of inner realisation. It is the body which aims to unite our spiritual values and beliefs in God in our HINDU way. We wish to represent the culture and methods of Hindus in the quest for experiencing God’s Presence in our Life

BUILDING THE TEMPLE...

Our temple would be built with the participation of one and all. Our foundation will coordinate the contribution of the devotees made in cash or kind. At this point of time, we seek and encourage the selfless act of donation. The donations received would be utilised for the construction of the temple. The donations would also facilitate the charitable work being undertaken at the temple. Your donations would not only help you achieve growth in your self-esteem and self- worth, but it will also bring in a sense of satisfaction of being useful to the needy. The greatest feeling is when you can give unconditionally for it is then you feel true love of divinity. LOCATION OF THE TEMPLE...

The Mandir will be located at 4, Peat Avenue, Holden Hill, Adelaide SA 5088. BHOOMI POOJAN...

The Bhoomi Poojan (Land worshiping ceremony) will take place on 9th April 2022. A Gentle Reminder to our being! We all have our own ways to reach out to God. Some of us pray on daily basis and some have not so regular patterns. Some people are eternally thankful and some get thankful for reasons which compels them to connect to God. In our busy routines we tend to forget that it is God who reaches out to us. It is God who teaches us, preaches us and gives purpose to our existence. We either become complacent or cite the reasons of being occupied in our worldly affairs to justify our lack of connect with our creator. Our Mandir will provide us with an opportunity to adopt a pattern conforming to regularity in not only expressing gratitude to God, but also to evolve spiritually and become better learned and compassionate human beings. Thus with joined Hands & Heart filled with hope & Gratitude, it is an appeal on our part to you all to come together and contribute in building a MANDIR epitomizing Hindu culture, architecture, and spirituality.

Our Sacred deities have been stolen from the Adelaide Hindu Temple at Holden Hill. They were taken through the back door in the early hours of the morning!

Brihaspati. Ketu. Shani. Bhairav. Lord Vishnu. Lord Lakshman.

We want you to understand what was taken, because they were not statues.

For us, a murti is not a carving. It is a form in which the Divine is present. When we stand before our deities, we are not looking at stone and metal. We are standing before Bhagwan.

We light the lamp for them. We offer the first flowers of the morning. We bring our newborns to be blessed before them. We come to them in our hardest hours and say the things we cannot say anywhere else.

They are the heart of this temple.

Without them, the prayer hall is only a room. We cannot begin with any of them missing.

We were planning for the Pran Pratishtha, the consecration. We were preparing for the holiest day this community has known very soon.

Now we walk into a room that feels empty. A presence is missing.

We have never asked for anything for ourselves. We asked only that our place of worship be safe, and that our families could pray without fear.

To whoever took them: we are not asking for punishment. We are asking you to bring them back.

Leave them somewhere safe and tell someone where they are. No questions. No anger.

Just bring our deities home.

To everyone else: please help us.

If you live near the temple and have a security camera or dashcam, please check your footage.
If someone has offered you large stone religious statues, or you have seen them at a scrap yard, storage unit, used goods dealer or online, please speak up.

Some of these murtis weigh up to 200 kilograms. They did not walk away on their own.

And please share this post with your family, neighbours, work group and street.

We believe they will come home.
