THE MYSTERY OF THE NEW CREATURE IN CHRIST

2 Corinthians 5:17 (NKJV): “Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new.”

How we understand the new birth has a very strong bearing on how we live our new lives in Christ. As a child of God, it is extremely important to appreciate what Christ did, who the new creature in Christ is, and what he represents.

Some believers erroneously assume that the death and resurrection of Christ simply improved an old version of who they were. They consider salvation to be an upgrade of their former life, as though God merely took the old man and made him better.

But this is not the reality of the gospel.

The new creature in Christ is not an improved version of the old man. He is not a repaired man, a polished man, or an upgraded man. He is new.

In Christ, God did not renovate your old nature; He gave you a new one. He did not merely adjust your former identity; He brought forth a completely new being. The old passed away, and all things became new.

As a new creature, you have a new mind, a new nature, a new interpretation of life, and a new understanding. You should not see yourself according to the limitations of your past, your family background, your mistakes, your weaknesses, or your former experiences. See yourself through the finished work of Christ.

Beloved, everything about you changed when you came into Christ.

This understanding must shape how you pray, how you think, how you speak, how you serve, and how you face life. Hallelujah!

PRAYER: Father, I thank You for this word. I am a new creature in Christ. The old has passed away, and all things have become new. I walk in the revelation of my new identity and in the consciousness of who I am in You. By this truth, I manifest the life of Christ in all that I do. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

THE FRUIT OF THE SPIRIT: THE SEED OF CHRIST

Galatians 5:22-23 (KJV): “But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, Meekness, temperance: against such there is no law.”

The fruit of the Spirit is the visible manifestation of the seed of Christ at work within you.

This truth is beautifully revealed in Galatians 3:16: “Now to Abraham and his seed were the promises made. He saith not, And to seeds, as of many; but as of one, And to thy seed, which is Christ.” God shows us that the true Seed is not many, but One and that One is Christ.

Therefore, the manifestation of love, joy, peace, goodness, faith, meekness, and temperance in your life is the result of the seed of Christ dwelling in you. These graces do not originate from human effort but are the living expression of Christ in the believer.

Sadly, many have not understood this truth. As a result, they are constantly trying to plant seeds in order to produce this fruit. They attempt to sow seeds of love to reap the fruit of love. They try to plant seeds of peace in order to experience peace or seeds of joy in hopes of seeing joy manifested.

But, beloved, this is not the way of the Spirit.

You manifest love because the seed of Christ, the very embodiment of love, dwells in you. You manifest peace because Christ, who is your peace, lives in you. You manifest joy because His life within you is full of glory and divine satisfaction. The fruit of the Spirit is not something you struggle to manufacture; it is what naturally flows from the life of Christ in you.

To attempt to produce these things apart from this revelation is to fall into what Scripture calls dead works (Hebrews 6:1). It is to labor where grace has already provided, and to strive where Christ Himself should simply be revealed.

GRACE AND LAW: AN IMPERFECT BALANCE

Romans 10:4 (KJV): “For Christ is the end of the law for righteousness to everyone that believeth.”

One of the great divisions in the Church of Christ, both throughout history and even in our day, has arisen from differing understandings of the doctrines of law and grace.

There are those who regard preachers of grace as extreme, and fear that the message of grace gives men a license to sin, and yes, some preach it without understanding. Because of this, they advocate for a balance between law and grace, assuming that the two can coexist on equal terms.

But the truth is that grace can never be balanced with the law because grace begins where the law ends. Grace can only be balanced with faith.

As our theme Scripture declares, Christ is the end of the law for righteousness. In Him, the law reached its conclusion, and grace began its glorious work.

This is why the Scriptures also say in Galatians 3:24–25 (NKJV): “Therefore the law was our tutor to bring us to Christ, that we might be justified by faith. But after faith has come, we are no longer under a tutor.”

In the same spirit, Paul writes in 2 Corinthians 3:6, “Who also hath made us able ministers of the new testament; not of the letter, but of the spirit: for the letter killeth, but the spirit giveth life.”

What a weighty contrast this is. You cannot place on the same scale that which gives life and that which kills. You cannot attempt to merge that which has ended with that which has now come in glory. They are not equal, and they do not stand side by side as though each holds the same place in the believer’s life. One must give way to the other.

This is the force of the instruction in Galatians 4:30: “Cast out the bondwoman and her son: for the son of the bondwoman shall not be heir with the son of the freewoman.” The old order cannot inherit alongside the new. Hallelujah!

THE FOLLY OF TEACHING THE LAW

Colossians 2:20-22 (KJV): “Wherefore if ye be dead with Christ from the rudiments of the world, why, as though living in the world, are ye subject to ordinances, (Touch not; taste not; handle not; Which all are to perish with the using;) after the commandments and doctrines of men?”

God has called us, as believers, into the dispensation of grace (Ephesians 3:2). Yet despite this, there are still men who continue to teach the law. Our theme Scripture reveals one of the dangers of legalistic doctrine: it often degenerates into the commandments and traditions of men. Those who teach the law frequently drift from the path of sound doctrine and begin to impose rules, standards, and burdens shaped more by personal experience and human understanding than by the heart of God.

The early Church itself encountered this danger. Acts 15:1 says, “And certain men which came down from Judaea taught the brethren, and said, Except ye be circumcised after the manner of Moses, ye cannot be saved.” But upon what foundation was this teaching built? How did they come to present circumcision as though it were a covenant established by Moses, when the Scriptures plainly show that it was given through Abraham? This is what happens when divine instruction is gradually overtaken by the commandments and doctrines of men.

The Word of God gives us a solemn warning concerning such things. Colossians 2:23 (NLT) says, “These rules may seem wise because they require strong devotion, pious self-denial, and severe bodily discipline. But they provide no help in conquering a person’s evil desires.”

What a sobering truth. Man-made rules may appear spiritual. They may look like wisdom. They may even create an outward impression of devotion and discipline. Yet they do not have the power to transform the heart. Therefore, be discerning. Do not be carried away by teachings that exalt human standards above the finished work of Christ. Hold fast to the doctrine of grace.

WHAT IS JESUS DOING?

1 Corinthians 2:16 (NLT): “For, ‘Who can know the LORD’s thoughts? Who knows enough to teach him?’ But we understand these things, for we have the mind of Christ.”

Many believers are familiar with the phrase, “What would Jesus do?” It is often used as a moral compass when facing life’s decisions. While well-intentioned, this question subtly places Jesus at a distance as though He were merely an example from the past rather than a living presence within us today.

Scripture reveals a greater reality: Christ lives in you. Our theme scripture takes this truth even further. It tells us that we possess His mind. The Amplified Classic Version (AMPC) says: “But we have the mind of Christ (the Messiah) and do hold the thoughts (feelings and purposes) of His heart.”

This changes everything. In this present dispensation, the relevant question is no longer, “What would Jesus do?” Instead, it becomes, “What is Jesus doing, right now, in and through me?”

As you walk through your day, pause and reflect on this truth. When you think, it is Christ in you expressing His wisdom. When you choose, it is Christ in you manifesting His will. When you love, forgive, speak, or act, it is Christ in you revealing His heart. Hallelujah!

KINGDOM vs RELIGION.
Part 1.

By Rev Joseph Bundi.

Introduction

Many people use the words kingdom and religion as if they mean the same thing, but in the teachings of Jesus Christ they are very different. Jesus Christ did not come announcing a new religion. He came declaring the arrival of God’s Kingdom.

1. Definition of Kingdom

A kingdom is the rule, authority, government, dominion, and influence of a king over a territory and people.

In biblical terms, the Kingdom of God means:

God’s reign over hearts and lives

God’s authority replacing rebellion

Heaven’s culture invading earth

God’s will being done on earth as in heaven

Citizens living under the rule of the King

That is why Jesus Christ taught people to pray:

“Your kingdom come, Your will be done on earth as it is in heaven.”

2. Definition of Religion

Religion is usually a system of beliefs, rituals, traditions, ceremonies, and practices meant to connect people with God.

Religion often focuses on:

Rules without relationship

Ritual without transformation

Form without power

Tradition without revelation

Appearance without inner change

Religion can have truth inside it, but religion alone cannot save or transform the heart.

3. Why Jesus Christ Did Not Preach Religion

The Bible says:

“Repent, for the kingdom of heaven is at hand.”

He preached kingdom because:

a) Humanity did not only lose church—it lost dominion

In Genesis, mankind was given authority over the earth. Sin caused loss of fellowship and rulership. Jesus Christ came to restore both.

b) God wanted sons, not just followers

Religion creates attendants. Kingdom creates sons and daughters.

c) Kingdom changes life from inside out

Religion changes behavior externally. Kingdom changes nature internally.

d) Kingdom gives identity

Religion asks: “What do you practice?”
Kingdom asks: “Whose citizen are you?”

4. Why Many Preachers Avoid the Message of the Kingdom

a) Kingdom message demands surrender

Religion can be practiced while

The degree to which Christ is revealed to you is what draws the distinction between the power operating on your life and the man next to you.

By the Spirit of revelation, we increase in the knowledge of Christ and as knowledge increases, our influence and affluence grows in equal measure to the glory of God.

16/11/2025

The believer's attitude in prayer is one of thanksgiving. God already availed to us all spiritual blessings for glorious living. Our part is to choose to receive and walk in the fullness of what He made available through Jesus Christ.

*IF A MAN ABIDES NOT IN ME*

*JOHN 15:6 If a man abide not in me, he is cast forth as a branch, and is withered; and men gather them, and cast them into the fire, and they are burned. (KJV)*

In our previous lesson, we explained the phrase “taketh away” which was used to describe how the Father treats the branch that is not bearing fruit so that it can bear fruit and how the Father treats the branch that bears fruit so that it can be more fruitful. We said that “taketh away” means to lift up. This is a common farming practice of lifting up branches buried in the soil so that they can bear fruit. It is no way talking about believers who don’t produce good conduct.

Jesus in verse 5 mentioned his immediate audience. They were his disciples. In verse 3, Jesus said, they were clean because of the word he had spoken to them. This is how the Father dresses the vine through His word. The word spoken to them has made them able to bear fruit. Jesus also emphatically showed the kind of fruit they were to bear,

John 15:16,
“Ye have not chosen me, but I have chosen you, and ordained you, that ye should go and bring forth fruit, and that your fruit should remain: that whatsoever ye shall ask of the Father in my name, he may give it you”.

Jesus ordained them for the work of ministry which is preaching of the gospel. In verse 4 Jesus revealed a very important message,

John 15:4,
“Abide in me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, except it abide in the vine; no more can ye, except ye abide in me”.

What does it mean to abide in Christ and Christ abiding in you? The same message was made in verse 7,

John 15:7,
“If ye abide in me, and my words abide in you, ye shall ask what ye will, and it shall be done unto you”.

The only way a man can abide in Christ is to believe on him. Remember that at this stage, though Jesus had chosen the twelve, they had not believed on him yet for salvation. They did not yet have the comforter dwelling in them. Jesus talk

*DEPARTING FROM THE FAITH*

*1 TIMOTHY 4:1Now the Spirit speaketh expressly, that in the latter times some shall depart from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits, and doctrines of devils; (KJV)*

Once a person is saved, he or she has passed from death to life. There is no possibility of dying again or the possibility of losing salvation. Salvation is received once and forever. Since Jesus is alive to guarantee the salvation offered, the believer remains saved forever. We have explained some bible texts that some preachers ignorantly interpret to say that it is possible for the believer to lose salvation.

It is the desire of every pastor to see his members put up good conduct. Therefore, the quest to speak against or discourage sinful lifestyles through the teaching of God’s word is right. Jesus and the apostles taught strongly against sinful lifestyles. However, it is wrong to use the wrong bible interpretation to discourage a sinful lifestyle or to use the loss of salvation as a threat to make people put up good conduct. We must teach good conduct the way Jesus and the apostles taught it. None of them taught good conduct as a means to get saved or remain saved.

Our opening text is also another bible text sometimes used by preachers to teach the possibility of losing salvation. They erroneously teach that the bible says in the last days some shall depart from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirit. They interpret departing from the faith as a loss of salvation.

This is when faith in this context is erroneously interpreted as salvation. Faith in this context is not salvation but doctrine or teaching. Departing from the faith is following the doctrines of devils and giving heed to seducing spirits. The seducing spirit here is also false doctrine. It went on to mention examples of such doctrines,

1 Timothy 4:3,
“Forbidding to marry, and commanding to abstain from meats, which God hath created to be received with thanksgiving of them which believe and k

*WORK OUT YOUR OWN SALVATION*

*PHILIPPIANS 2:12 Wherefore, my beloved, as ye have always obeyed, not as in my presence only, but now much more in my absence, work out your own salvation with fear and trembling. (KJV)*

A bible text cannot have multiple interpretations. This means the correct interpretation is the interpretation the author wanted his audience to know at the time the text was written. We can achieve that by considering the context of the text. When context is not considered, we shall be in error.

We explained that a person departing from the faith or making a shipwreck of the faith is not about the loss of salvation but a believer deviating into false teaching or doctrine. A person gets saved by faith in the gospel of Christ. After salvation, a person is supposed to be taught and equipped to serve God or do ministry. It is during the equipping or growing spiritually that a person can be led astray into seducing spirits which is the doctrine of demons, blasphemous teachings and bewitchment.

This is what is termed as departing from the faith. A Christian lady who is saved but has been taught wrongly to believe that wearing trousers and jewelry is sinful is still saved. Such wrong doctrine cannot cancel their salvation.

A believer who believes that a saved person can lose salvation will not lose salvation because they believed that. Your wrong faith cannot negate God’s truth. You are saved forever even though you believe otherwise.

Our opening text is one of the texts people use to teach that a person is required to work for his or her salvation. They believe that getting saved is the beginning and after you are saved, you are required to work for your own salvation to remain saved. This is another issue of picking bible text out of context.

Here, Apostle Paul was teaching them to continue to be obedient to instructions given to them in his absence. He does not need to be with them always to ensure their compliance with what he taught them. He
