HE STOPPED IN HIS PAINโฆ TO COMFORT OTHERS
โDaughters of Jerusalem, do not weep for me; weep for yourselves and for your children.โ โ Luke 23:28 (NIV)
The road to Golgotha was not just a path of sufferingโit was a journey of unimaginable love. Each step Jesus took was heavy, not only because of the rough wooden cross pressing into His torn flesh, but because of the weight of humanityโs sin resting upon Him. Blood ran down His face from the crown of thorns, His body weakened, yet His purpose remained unshaken.
As He walked, the crowd followedโsome mocking, some watching in silenceโbut among them were women whose hearts could not bear the sight. They wept openly, their cries filled with sorrow and helplessness. They saw His pain, His wounds, His exhaustionโฆ and their hearts broke.
Then something unexpected happened.
In the middle of His sufferingโฆ Jesus stopped.
He turned His face toward themโnot with anger, not with despairโbut with compassion. Even in His agony, His concern was not for Himself. It was for them.
โDo not weep for meโฆโ
Imagine that moment. The One who was beaten, bleeding, and carrying a crossโฆ comforting others. The One who deserved comfortโฆ giving it instead. His love was not shaken by pain. His mercy was not silenced by suffering.
Jesus saw beyond the moment. He saw their future. He saw the brokenness of the world. And even then, He chose to love, to warn, to care.
That is the heart of Christ.
He didnโt just carry the crossโฆ He carried us.
In your darkest moment, when life feels heavy and overwhelming, remember this: the same Jesus who paused in His pain to comfort others is the same Jesus who sees you today. He sees your tears. He knows your struggles. And even when you feel like giving up, His love is still reaching out to you.
This wasnโt just a walk to the cross.
It was a demonstration of unstoppable, sacrificial, life-changing love.
And that loveโฆ is still for you.
