RUWA SOCIETY 2026 HARVEST CELEBRATIONS
The Principle of Increase — 2 Corinthians 9:6-9
Vadiwa Vatendi Munashe, this year's harvest season celebration service was not just like any other event, it was a call to examine our relationship with the God who gave us everything first.
The service was led by Rev Kasvau. The inspirational devotion was drawn from 2 Corinthians 9v6-9. Hanzi, Abraham was asked to give the one thing he had, his only son. He did not question, he did not negotiate. Akangoita sekuudzwa kwaakaitwa pasina kunyunyuta kana kuchema chema. Because of this unconditional obedience and faith, he became father to nations. Hannah, in her desperation, gave back to God the very thing she longed for most, and God multiplied her seed beyond measure.
Harvest does not begin at the altar on Sunday morning but in the quiet and consistent act of sowing, followed by patient nurturing. The message came so clearly that, "Haukwanisi kukohwa pausina kudyara, neither can you expect a field to yield where no seed was ever planted."
He emphasised that, as Christians, we often come to God expecting blessings without ever giving Him anything of ourselves. "Anodyara zvishoma anokohwa zvishoma; naizvozvo, vanodyara zvakawanda vanokohwa zvakawanda."
This principle is not only about money. Your daily contact, your love, your care, your responsibilities in church, family and society, your relationships; these are seeds too. Someone is watching you, measuring you by the seed you plant in their lives. The principle of increase begins with your sowing, and God promises to multiply the very nature of your seed, manifesting it in you and in your descendants.
As Christians, sometimes we become too Calculative and too Greedy when it comes to giving back to God, the One who withheld nothing from us.
"Mumwe nomumwe ngaape sezvaari kafunga mumoyo make; kwete nokusuwa, kana nokumanikidzwa, nokuti Mwari anoda munhu anopa nomufaro." (2 Corinthians 9:7)
Let us sow generously this season, in faith, in love, in obedience and trust God for the increase. Today's harvest was not a closure, but a call to the noble thing - giving back to God.

4. Nurture, don't just plant.
5. Your life is a seed to someone watching.

7. Give cheerfully, not under pressure.
There was a real Harvest for all as it ended with congregants sharing lunch and drinks!!!
