POWER OF ASSOCIATION by Elder Mutemachimwe

Association is closely related to friendship and companionship. As a child of God it’s very important to monitor the people that you associate with. As a matter of fact, the bible blesses you for just choosing the right associations. PSALM 1: BLESSED IS THE MAN THAT WALKETH NOT IN THE COUNSEL OF THE UNGODLY, NOR STANDETH IN THE WAY OF SINNERS, NOR SITTETH IN THE SEAT OF THE SCORNFUL.

Now, someone may think this is a small matter but it is not. The devil was able to execute his plan to kill Jesus because of Jesus’ association with Judas. If Jesus had not chosen Judas Iscariot, the devil would not have had access to him. Yet because Jesus wanted to fulfil the prophecy, he actually chose Judas to be his disciple knowing that he was evil? JOHN 6:70 JESUS ANSWERED THEM, HAVE NOT I CHOSEN YOU TWELVE, AND ONE OF YOU IS A DEVIL?

Now Judas did not only sell out to the Pharisees but he also stole the offerings of God. JOHN 12:6 THIS HE SAID, NOT THAT HE CARED FOR THE POOR, BUT BECAUSE HE WAS A THIEF, AND HAD THE MONEY BOX; AND HE USED TO TAKE WHAT WAS PUT IN IT.

So all ‘Judas associated problems’ could have been avoided simply by not associating with him. Some people come to your life as pillars to support your destiny. EXODUS 17:12-14 >12 BUT MOSES’ HANDS WERE HEAVY; AND THEY TOOK A STONE AND PUT IT UNDER HIM, AND HE SAT THEREON. AND AARON AND HUR HELD UP HIS HANDS, THE ONE ON THE ONE SIDE AND THE OTHER ON THE OTHER SIDE; AND HIS HANDS WERE STEADY UNTIL THE GOING DOWN OF THE SUN.13 AND JOSHUA DISCOMFITED AMALEK AND HIS PEOPLE WITH THE EDGE OF THE SWORD

Some however come to destroy you. Instead of Eve associating with her husband, she associated with the snake. Bad associations lead to destruction. PROVERBS 22: 24- 25: MAKE NO FRIENDSHIP WITH AN ANGRY MAN; AND WITH A FURIOUS MAN THOU SHALT NOT GO: LEST THOU LEARN HIS WAYS, AND GET A SNARE TO THY SOUL.

Associating with a godly person will bring blessings into your life (Abraham invites angels Gen 18; Lot invites angels- Gen 19).
As a Christian, how is it possible to have ungodly friends?? Remember, we are in a battle with Satan. How do we then embrace our enemy? How does a soldier in battle go and hug another enemy soldier in the midst of the war? How does light have fellowship with darkness? 2 Corinthians 6:14 BE YE NOT UNEQUALLY YOKED TOGETHER WITH UNBELIEVERS: FOR WHAT FELLOWSHIP HATH RIGHTEOUSNESS WITH UNRIGHTEOUSNESS? AND WHAT COMMUNION HATH LIGHT WITH DARKNESS?

Now, am I advocating for us to hate non-Christians- NO! But Jesus says, "BEHOLD, I SEND YOU FORTH AS SHEEP IN THE MIDST OF WOLVES. BE YE THEREFORE WISE AS SERPENTS AND HARMLESS AS DOVES” (Matthew 10:16, KJV). We must love everyone but we do not fellowship with everyone. Lot by simply associating with S***m and Gomorrah almost got destroyed with it. By associating with immoral people, we become part of them. AMOS 3:3 DO TWO MEN WALK TOGETHER UNLESS THEY HAVE MADE AN APPOINTMENT? We must only associate with ungodly people to preach the word to them, to influence them to turn to Christ but not to assimilate with them

Have you ever tried fasting in the midst of many people? Those that are godly will draw close to you. They may even bring you dreams and prophesies from God. If however you are surrounded by ungodly people, they will start to fight you. Has this ever happened to you? Have you ever received insults, slander, gossip etc from your friends and family when fasting? The problem is not them but you. YOU made them your associations. When the fire of God grows in you, the demons and spirits in them will not want to associate with you.

I have marveled at Christians who want to marry or be married by ungodly people. This is why their homes have no peace. It’s because darkness and light do not mix. What you don’t understand is that some of the verbal abuse, physical abuse, curses, slander etc. are simply demons reacting to the fire in you. If however you are wise in choosing a partner by choosing someone with the presence of God, you can avoid all this.

Do you know that God prohibited the children of Israel from marrying people with different beliefs. God knew the power of association. He knew their hearts would be corrupted by strange associations. Solomon however did not obey this rule and as a result, fell away from God. 1 KING 11: 1-2 :BUT KING SOLOMON LOVED MANY STRANGE WOMEN, TOGETHER WITH THE DAUGHTER OF PHARAOH, WOMEN OF THE MOABITES, AMMONITES, EDOMITES, ZIDONIANS, AND HITTITES: OF THE NATIONS CONCERNING WHICH THE LORD SAID UNTO THE CHILDREN OF ISRAEL, YE SHALL NOT GO IN TO THEM, NEITHER SHALL THEY COME IN UNTO YOU: FOR SURELY THEY WILL TURN AWAY YOUR HEART AFTER THEIR GODS: SOLOMON CLAVE UNTO THESE IN LOVE

The bible says, 1 Corinthians 15:33 DO NOT BE DECEIVED: “BAD COMPANY CORRUPTS GOOD MORALS.” This means that associating with a person who is ungodly will influence your morality negatively. Associating with the godly people will influence you positively. PROVERBS 13:20 HE THAT WALKETH WITH WISE MEN SHALL BE WISE……….

Paul advises the early church that in the church, when someone refuses to repent of a known sin, we should not associate with them as they may end up imparting their habits on us. 1 COR 5:11 BUT NOW I HAVE WRITTEN UNTO YOU NOT TO KEEP COMPANY, IF ANY MAN THAT IS CALLED A BROTHER BE A FORNICATOR, OR COVETOUS, OR AN IDOLATOR, OR A RAILER, OR A DRUNKARD, OR AN EXTORTIONER; WITH SUCH AN ONE NO NOT TO EAT.

So we must take this message from God very serious. We must check and evaluate our associations. Are they bringing us closer to Christ or they are destroying us (prodigal son friends). Let us cut all unholy associations. Associations that lead to hell. Associations that report our progress to the enemy. In this age of technology, some associations are not people. They are unholy websites, unholy books, unholy social media groups, unholy television programs.
May God guide you in choosing the people you associate with.

LET ME PRAY

Dear Heavenly Father. I pray for everyone reading this message. Purify their associations.

Remove all associates from their lives who have an unholy mission from Satan. Give them discernment to separate the good and bad, genuine and fake, destiny builders and destiny destroyers. I pray that you bless you’re the one reading this message in a special way.

RECEIVE JESUS AS YOUR LORD AND SAVIOR

Choosing to receive Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior is the most important decision you’ll ever make!

God’s Word promises, “If thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation…. For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved” (Rom. 10:9–10,13).

By His grace, God has already done everything to provide salvation. Your part is simply to believe and receive.

Pray out loud, Jesus, I confess that You are my Lord and Savior. I believe in my heart that you died for my sins and God raised You from the dead. By faith in Your Word, I receive salvation now. Thank You for saving me!

The very moment you commit your life to Jesus Christ, the truth of His Word instantly comes to pass in your spirit. Now that you’re born again, there’s a brand-new you!

REWARDS IN HEAVEN by Elder Mutemachimwe

One of the mandates of Rock of Ages International Church of Jehovah is to prepare God’s children for the coming of Jesus Christ. When Jesus comes, he expects to meet a Holy church. He will judge the world as seen in REVELATIONS 20: 10-15. 11 AND I SAW A GREAT WHITE THRONE, AND HIM THAT SAT ON IT, FROM WHOSE FACE THE EARTH AND THE HEAVEN FLED AWAY; AND THERE WAS FOUND NO PLACE FOR THEM. 12 AND I SAW THE DEAD, SMALL AND GREAT, STAND BEFORE GOD; AND THE BOOKS WERE OPENED: AND ANOTHER BOOK WAS OPENED, WHICH IS THE BOOK OF LIFE: AND THE DEAD WERE JUDGED OUT OF THOSE THINGS WHICH WERE WRITTEN IN THE BOOKS, ACCORDING TO THEIR WORKS. 13 AND THE SEA GAVE UP THE DEAD WHICH WERE IN IT; AND DEATH AND HELL DELIVERED UP THE DEAD WHICH WERE IN THEM: AND THEY WERE JUDGED EVERY MAN ACCORDING TO THEIR WORKS. 14 AND DEATH AND HELL WERE CAST INTO THE LAKE OF FIRE. THIS IS THE SECOND DEATH. 15 AND WHOSOEVER WAS NOT FOUND WRITTEN IN THE BOOK OF LIFE WAS CAST INTO THE LAKE OF FIRE

My brother, my sister, are you in the Book of Life? If you die today, are you going to Heaven? Are your works noble or evil? Is your walk of faith straight or crooked? Paul advises us to live our lives in a manner that makes it sure that we are going to heaven. We should live our lives in a manner that removes all doubt if we are of God or Satan 2 PETER 1:10 “WHEREFORE THE RATHER, BRETHREN, GIVE DILIGENCE TO MAKE YOUR CALLING AND ELECTION SURE: FOR IF YE DO THESE THINGS, YE SHALL NEVER FALL:”

Today I want to focus on rewards in heaven. These are rewards which you receive in Heaven for the achievements or milestones accomplished on earth. When you are born again and you have accepted Christ as your Lord and Savior, you become a citizen of Heaven as recorded in the Book of Life. You then need to keep the faith (keep this salvation) until the day of your death/ coming of Jesus. REVELATION 3:5, 5 HE THAT OVERCOMETH, THE SAME SHALL BE CLOTHED IN WHITE RAIMENT; AND I WILL NOT BLOT OUT HIS NAME OUT OF THE BOOK OF LIFE, BUT I WILL CONFESS HIS NAME BEFORE MY FATHER, AND BEFORE HIS ANGELS

For you to receive your rewards, you must have made it to heaven. If you do not make it to heaven, you lose all. MATTHEW 25:29 FOR UNTO EVERY ONE THAT HATH SHALL BE GIVEN, AND HE SHALL HAVE ABUNDANCE: BUT FROM HIM THAT HATH NOT SHALL BE TAKEN AWAY EVEN THAT WHICH HE HATH.

If you however make it to heaven, you will be rewarded according to your life on earth. This is why the bible in Daniel 12:3 says AND THEY THAT BE WISE SHALL SHINE AS THE BRIGHTNESS OF THE FIRMAMENT; AND THEY THAT TURN MANY TO RIGHTEOUSNESS AS THE STARS FOR EVER AND EVER. This verse is telling us that some people will have a higher glory than others in Heaven. It says those that preach the gospel and turn people to God (righteousness) will have the greatest glory.

My brother, my sister- Jesus says, Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost. How many of us are listening to this call? Are you partaking in the work of God? What is it that you are doing in the house of God that will qualify you for a reward in Heaven? What good works are you doing that qualify for a reward? Selfish works will not qualify but works of God. PROVERBS 19:17 HE THAT HATH PITY UPON THE POOR LENDETH UNTO THE LORD; AND THAT WHICH HE HATH GIVEN WILL HE PAY HIM AGAIN.
So we must pray to God so that he shows us the works that bear fruit. Fruit which remains after we die as his word says: John 15: 16 Ye have not chosen me, but I have chosen you, and ordained you, THAT YE SHOULD GO AND BRING FORTH FRUIT, AND THAT YOUR FRUIT SHOULD REMAIN: that whatsoever ye shall ask of the Father in my name, he may give it you.

The bible talks of rewards for the children of God both here on earth and in Heaven. Matthew 6:3-6 ; 3 But when thou doest alms, let not thy left hand know what thy right hand doeth: 4 That thine alms may be in secret: AND THY FATHER WHICH SEETH IN SECRET HIMSELF SHALL REWARD THEE OPENLY. 5 And when thou prayest, thou shalt not be as the hypocrites are: for they love to pray standing in the synagogues and in the corners of the streets, that they may be seen of men. Verily I say unto you, They have their reward. 6 But thou, when thou prayest, enter into thy closet, and when thou hast shut thy door, pray to thy Father which is in secret; AND THY FATHER WHICH SEETH IN SECRET SHALL REWARD THEE OPENLY.

Now Paul was aware of this matter of rewards. This is why although he was fine with his condition, he wanted the Philippians to continue being partners in his Ministry. He says the reason for this is so that they have a fruit on their account. PHILIPPIANS 4:17“NOT BECAUSE I DESIRE A GIFT: BUT I DESIRE FRUIT THAT MAY ABOUND TO YOUR ACCOUNT.” He wanted them to be partners of his work in Christ so that they share in his reward in heaven. When you assist your Visionary, Apostle or Pastor in the work of God, you will be partakers of their reward. MATTHEW 10 41 HE THAT RECEIVETH A PROPHET IN THE NAME OF A PROPHET SHALL RECEIVE A PROPHET'S REWARD; AND HE THAT RECEIVETH A RIGHTEOUS MAN IN THE NAME OF A RIGHTEOUS MAN SHALL RECEIVE A RIGHTEOUS MAN'S REWARD.42 AND WHOSOEVER SHALL GIVE TO DRINK UNTO ONE OF THESE LITTLE ONES A CUP OF COLD WATER ONLY IN THE NAME OF A DISCIPLE, VERILY I SAY UNTO YOU, HE SHALL IN NO WISE LOSE HIS REWARD. So next time your pastor is asking you to assist him in the work of God, understand that he is actually doing you a favour. You may not realise it now, but if you make it to Heaven, you will thank him/her.

This matter may look small to someone now but it is not at all. Remember the glory that you will get as a reward will last eternity. Just as you aspire to have better home, clothes, etc. here on earth; when you get to heaven, you will see that the glory of those that worked for God is greater. Just as we say diamond is better than gold and gold is better than silver, so will it be in heaven. Others will have a more glorious appearance and way of life as a result of their life on earth. I urge you brother and sister not to just sit in church but to work for God.

Interceding for the church has rewards, evangelism has rewards, preaching and teaching has rewards, faithfully tithing and offerings have reward, prayer and fasting have rewards, keeping yourself holy has rewards. Following God’s instructions which are in the bible is rewarded.

Some people do the work of God complaining, some do it halfheartedly, some do not do it at all. Some it’s out of competition, show off, envy, lust and even bitterness. Paul says we should watch how we build upon the foundation (the work done by Jesus). Some preach to please man, some out of greed or love of money. Some intercessors are not praying for the church. Some people are taking the work of God lightly. Paul says we should take heed how we do the work of God as this will determine whether we get a reward or not since the quality of our work will be tested by fire. 1 Corinthian 3: 10-15 10 According to the grace of God which is given unto me, as a wise masterbuilder, I have laid the foundation, and another buildeth thereon. But let every man take heed how he buildeth thereupon. 11 For other foundation can no man lay than that is laid, which is Jesus Christ. 12 Now if any man build upon this foundation gold, silver, precious stones, wood, hay, stubble;13 Every man's work shall be made manifest: for the day shall declare it, because it shall be revealed by fire; and the fire shall try every man's work of what sort it is. 14 If any man's work abide which he hath built thereupon, he shall receive a reward. 15 If any man's work shall be burned, he shall suffer loss: but he himself shall be saved; yet so as by fire

LET US PRAY
Heavenly Father, we come before you on this day. We bless your Holy name and honor you. Help us to work out our salvation with fear and trembling. May we be holy as you are Holy. May we diligently fulfil our purpose and destiny. May we fight a good fight and overcome the challenges of this world. May we receive the crown of life for the bible says, JAMES 1:12 “BLESSED IS THE MAN THAT ENDURETH TEMPTATION: FOR WHEN HE IS TRIED, HE SHALL RECEIVE THE CROWN OF LIFE, WHICH THE LORD HATH PROMISED TO THEM THAT LOVE HIM.”

We pray so that we may be masterbuilders whose work is able to please you and survive the test of fire. May we labour and produce a fruit that is able to endure, a fruit that is worthy of a reward.

May you help us receive all our rewards.

We pray for the sick, the afflicted, and all in need of your help at this moment. AMEN
