BACK TO BACK DISTRICT CHAMPIONS! 🏆

Last Saturday we were honored to be part of the UMYF Mutare District Official 2025-2026 Annual Conference held at Hilltop Circuit.

The day brought together 28 circuits — 17 urban & 11 rural — for a powerful time of reflection, planning, and fellowship as we reviewed the year July 2025 - June 2026. It was a necessary step to set the tone for deeper spiritual growth and stronger organizational excellence going forward.

We are beyond grateful and proud to announce that our circuit was once again named BEST CIRCUIT IN THE DISTRICT🏆. This is God’s doing and the fruit of hard work, unity and dedication from every single member.

We were also awarded as the Circuit with the HIGHEST NUMBER of Rupawo Subscribers in Mutare District!

Huge congratulations & sincere gratitude to our District leadership for hosting such a wonderful conference. Our appreciation goes to District Superintendent Rev J Charinga, Youth Director Rev L Marange, President Miss Ivy Chinamaringa and her Vice, Brother Tatenda Nyambawaro. Thank you for your leadership, commitment and for creating an atmosphere of unity and fellowship throughout the day.

As St John’s Chikanga UMYF, we recommit ourselves to working in God’s vineyard and supporting all District activities. We strive to be an inclusive organization that drives community progress and safeguards our church youth. Through our Outreach Programs, we hope to win more souls for Christ and bring hope to the needy in our community.

APPRECIATION POST🙏🏻

So last Saturday, we traveled to Harare to participate in the ZEAC UMYF Music Festivals. By God’s grace, we were blessed by this beautiful couple who opened both their home and their hearts to us.

They received us with unconditional love and generosity. We prepared and shared meals together at their place and after the festival they graciously invited us into their home where we had the joy of ministering through song as we presented both of our competition pieces to the family.

Our members were deeply encouraged and blessed by this act of Christian hospitality. As 1 Peter 4:9 reminds us, “Offer hospitality to one another without grumbling.” This family did exactly that, with joy and a willing heart. It reminded us that we serve a God who goes before us and provides for us.

To this lovely family: Thank you for being vessels of God’s love to us. May the Lord richly bless you and reward you for your kindness and generosity.

Love in Action: St John's Chikanga and Dora South UMYF visit Chengetai Special School.

Sunday 28 June 2026 was more than just a visit for St John's Chikanga UMYF, It was a moment of family.

The youth arm under the United Methodist Church joined hands with their Sister Circuit, Dora South Circuit UMYF. Together they had a special outreach at Chengetai Special School in Chikanga Surbub, Mutare.

The members had some time to dance, sing and interact with the centre Matron and Children. the joy was was real!.

The youth members had time to learn about Chengetai's heart from the Matron. She shared it's background, daily work and the incredible care it gives to vulnerable children in the community.

In the spirit of social responsibility, The youth members donated essential groceries. This included Sugar, Cooking Oil, Rice, Peanut Butter, Toiletries and Clothes.

Speaking in his closing remarks, St John's Chikanga UMYF's Vice President and Leader of the 4 Commissions, Shingai Mwaita highlighted that, this was not the end, It was just the start of many partnerships to come. He noted that after hearing the plea for more hands at the centre, He will mobilize the youth members to return again to assist in land clearence, farming and clean-ups. He closed by saying that Chengetai is now part of the family.

The centre Matron and the children expressed deed gratitude to both St John's Chikanga and Dora South UMYF. This was one of St John's Chikanga UMYF's ongoing community outreach initiaves. A testament of the message in Mathew 25 verses 35-36.
